Owner description: This national park is really a free museum that documents Seattle history, from the fire that burned it down to the gold rush that helped build it up.

This museum provided me information about the gold rush and how important Seattle was, plus I learned about how Nordstrom's was founded. This museum has a sister museum located on the Alaskan site. The video was particularly interesting. Some hands-on activities in the exhibits, but it seemed mostly to be text heavy. The pictures and artifacts were good.

We were enjoying a stroll through Seattle and stumbled upon this great National Park. It is so well done and tells the story of the Klondike Gold Rush. We still laugh about the "little park" where we learned so much in the middle of Seattle. Well worth a visit!

From the start the man at reception was welcoming and gave an outline of what happened in 1897. He suggested we see the film about the gold rush. We were the only ones there and he turned it on especially for us. This took 20 minutes and was excellent. Then we wandered round the extemely well laid out exhibits at our leisure. I then had more questions that the man at the reception desk answered. One of the best museums I have ever visited.

This is one of Seattle’s little jems. The park rangers are well educated and interactive. It’s a fun learning experience.
