My husband and I walked here from Pike Place Market because we don't mind walking and because the guide book said they had a great collection of orchids. It was not worth it. The orchids were lovely, but we've been to many other places with much larger collections of them, so this was disappointing to us. The conservatory itself is nice, but it wasn't worth the walk or really the $4 to get in. Again, we've seen many more gardens/conservatories that are much larger.
The park is nice and you can get a pretty good view (albeit obstructed by fencing) if you climb to the top of the water tower.
If you're already going up there to the Asian Art Museum and you enjoy plants, it might be worth it for you to go, but we ended up a little disappointed. Definitely take the bus or drive because the grade up Capital Hill is a killer.
