“A Beautiful Seattle Conservatory”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

One of the most extensive collections of plants and flowers under one roof. The Cactus garden was amazing.

“What a great day!”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

If you miss this you don't like botany. Very intimate setting with elusive plants abounding. The view of Seattle from here is stunning.

“Wonderful during rain or sunshine”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Volunteer Park houses wonderful places to visit, a classic glass walled and roofed Conservatory full of lush tropical pants bathed in a fragrant humid climate and a wonderful dry hot desert environment full of prickly cactus. Both are always a wonderful surprise to my skin and my psyche when I visit. And Its FREE! There is a parking area directly in front of the Conservatory, as well as ample additional parking along the streets that lace throughout the park. Be sure to also stop into the Seattle Asian Art Museum, in its grandiose building, located steps away from the Conservatory. The exotic art is fascinating and presented with taste and restraint. I Love the huge stone camels that flank the front entrance. With their two humps they are a friendly photo op that you can have some fun with... Wait there is MORE! Directly across the street from the Art Museum is a much photographed view thru a large sculpture, over the water reservoir,of the iconic Space Needle. On the drive into the park, you will see a beautiful stone tower, take a few moments and explore this, follow the winding stairs up, don't forget your camera , the view from the top is beautiful. This large established park, has a wonderful balance of classic gardens and sweeping open lawns to enjoy, flanked with many groves of mature trees. There is a kids wading pool, Dogs on leash are welcome to visit with you in the park. If you plan your visit while the weather is warm, pu a picnic lunch from one of the eateries on 15th Ave a few moments away; and, with a big blanket, spend the afternoon- this is one of Seattle's hidden jewels.

“Great views!”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Volunteer park is a large park with a great view of the Space Needle from the Asian Museum. The museum was closed when we were there, but I am very interested in touring it another time. Nearby we climbed up a tower and took some pictures of the mountains and the Space Needle in the distance. There is also a great greenhouse. This is a wonderful place to walk and enjoy the outdoors.

“Pretty location”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Worth checking out, lovely location in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Easy to find, nice to drive through as well. The day we visited the Conservatory building was closed, but we will be back to explore further. The park is very pretty with historic buildings that look well maintained.
