Do you want a view of downtown Seattle, Lake Union, including the Space Needle...this is the place to go. Buy a kite and stand a top a hillside overooking the city and the lake...amazing!!

Great view of Seattle! You can see across the lake to downtown with the Space Needle. Great place for kids to run around.

I've been to this park a few times while taking a bike ride with my daughter. We start from the University of Washington campus and ride to Gas Works Park. It is a nice easy ride, smooth, paved, wide bike trail the whole way. The park doesn't offer a lot for little kids, but it is faily spacious, has a big covered area and pleanty of water views.

I went there through a trail from University of Washington, the park was very peaceful yet playful at the same time. There is a hill that you could climb where there is a sun dial design on top. I didn't get to see any sunlight at that day that I went, but you get to see a whole view of downtown Seattle, which is just impressive. As it get later into the night, you also get to see the city lights reflects on Lake Union! But beware, there are no park lights so when the sun disappears, there is really no form of light, and therefore it gets spooky.
