“Clean, well equipped with amazing views.”

Took the 2 year old to the Park on the only sunny afternoon of our trip. She loved the really nicely laid out playground, the duck pond and the easy access to the beach and a multitude of seashells to play with. Mom and Dad loved the amazing views of The Olympic range, the boats on the sound and the clean and safe park. Particularly cool were the fire pits on the beach where you could cook up the clams you just dug out of the beach.

“New Year's Day 2013”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

Went to Golden Gardens with a friend on New Year's Day 2013 to start a little fire on the beach and burn our wishing papers for the year. It was first time at Golden Gardens in a long time and was able to witness the annual tradition of burning Christmas trees and taking a polar/resolution dip in the cold water. I met so many nice and interesting people and a lot of furry friends on the beach. This will definitely be one of my spots to hang out on a more regular basis not only for the location but also for the beautiful scenery, plenty of parking, great people, fire pits, train track, and other amenities. Be sure to bring extra blankets, gloves, hats, scarves, beach towels, coffee, cocoa, marshmallows, and snacks. If you visit in the winter it get's very cold with the wind! Brr! But it's such a great place and the fire and company will keep you warm.

“Nice any time of year”

Don't wait for a sunny day to visit Golden Gardens. This is a great walking spot, and better without the crowds of sun--starved locals. Seeing the Olympics across the sound is impressive and be sure to visit the small wetlands area at the tip of the park.

“Really Beautiful, Great for Picknicking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

Golden Gardens is a great park to bike too, with a picnic lunch or dinner in your bag. The beach is really beautiful, if a bit cold. It generally tends to be quite crowded when the weather is warm, but it's still a pleasant experience to sit on a blanket and watch the sunset here.

“Just plain gorgeous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

First went there in early July, and keep going back. On a summer day it's like going to a California beach...lots of people having fun in the sun.

In the evenings, and into the fall, the fire pits are great. Even managed to accidentally stumble upon a mini-concert event. The bands were set up on a beach blanket with the ocean to their back while a crowd sat in the sand and listened well after dark.

High tide offers seemingly good fishing for folks interested in that sort of thing. Low tide opens up the coastline for a BEAUTIFUL hike. I got as far as Carkeek Park once before I realized I'd better turn around before the tide started to roll in again!

Sailboats, STUNNING mountain view, cool view of the trains going by, a sunset like something out of a movie that induces applause by the crowd watching from the beach, AND I didn't get into the dog park (for those with dogs) some rugged, wooded trails to hike up the bluffs (not sure if I was supposed to be up there, but it was neat...), a pretty nifty playground for the kids, some protected marsh-lands home to beautiful families of cranes, and a ballroom-like building that has housed some pretty gorgeous weddings. It's a must-see. Even on a rainy day.
