“Really Beautiful, Great for Picknicking”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

Golden Gardens is a great park to bike too, with a picnic lunch or dinner in your bag. The beach is really beautiful, if a bit cold. It generally tends to be quite crowded when the weather is warm, but it's still a pleasant experience to sit on a blanket and watch the sunset here.

“Just plain gorgeous”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

First went there in early July, and keep going back. On a summer day it's like going to a California beach...lots of people having fun in the sun.

In the evenings, and into the fall, the fire pits are great. Even managed to accidentally stumble upon a mini-concert event. The bands were set up on a beach blanket with the ocean to their back while a crowd sat in the sand and listened well after dark.

High tide offers seemingly good fishing for folks interested in that sort of thing. Low tide opens up the coastline for a BEAUTIFUL hike. I got as far as Carkeek Park once before I realized I'd better turn around before the tide started to roll in again!

Sailboats, STUNNING mountain view, cool view of the trains going by, a sunset like something out of a movie that induces applause by the crowd watching from the beach, AND I didn't get into the dog park (for those with dogs) some rugged, wooded trails to hike up the bluffs (not sure if I was supposed to be up there, but it was neat...), a pretty nifty playground for the kids, some protected marsh-lands home to beautiful families of cranes, and a ballroom-like building that has housed some pretty gorgeous weddings. It's a must-see. Even on a rainy day.

Not year round mind you, but during the summer racing season. Check out the CYC Corinthian Yacht Club website for other weekend races too.

“Best place to watch the sunset!”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

I highly recommend Golden Gardens - especially on a clear night if you want to watch the sunset!!! It offers the best views of the Olympic mountains and the Puget Sound, as it's usually filled with sail boats!

“Beautiful Sunsets”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

This is a wonderful place to watch a sunset, walk on the beach, watch the sailboats. The history of Golden Gardens is also fascinating. It's often difficult to find a place to park because it's so popular.
