“$16.50 for Gray Goose martini?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

My husband and I stopped for.a light bite before a show. We had three appetizers including crab topped Mac and cheese, expecting a wonderful, cheesy and decadent dish. Unfortunately it was dry and flavorless. When i mentioned it to our waitress she apologized, saying the "chef had been tweaking the recipe" and removed the charge from our bill. The chanterelle and leak gratin was good and my husband enjoyed his lamb ribs. Service was good. Our shock came when we got our bill with the $16.50 per martini charge. Most likely will not return.

“Brunch at Urbane”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

What a treat! The food was really good - a nice gourmet twist on breakfast items. The zucchini frittata was excellent as was the steak & eggs. The dishes are served with a helping of their wonderful tomato chutney - yum. Urbane is committed to sustainability and the food served is sourced locally which means it is fresh and tastes delicious. Did I mention the cocktails and mocktails? Try the mimosa Urbane style - so good.

“Soooooo slow!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

Great hotel rooms but oh dear you are in for a surprise if you go for breakfast. Waiters are great but the kitchen is so slow that by the time you get your eggs it is about time for lunch! Therefore not suitable for businessmen, more for the retired citizens.

“Innovative menu with local wines near convention center”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

Had a business dinner there this evening following a conference at the convention center. It is located adjacent to the Hyatt lobby but has a street entrance. There is a bar and the dining is split into several smaller areas. Ambience was urban smart, but not overly done.

The menu was short, but the offerings were all interesting and innovative. Several good fish choices as to be expected in Seattle, but also lamb and beef. There were some interesting appetizer choices, too. We had some fresh oysters and a kind of cheese, olive and meat sampler served with crackers and bread. I enjoyed the sampler platter and we snacked from it through dinner.

For entree I had the lamb which was salt crusted and sliced into medallions served over greens and beans. The lamb was tender and juicy and cooked medium rare to perfection. My colleague had the halibut and claimed it to have been excellent. We each had a glass of wine. All wines are from the Washington/Oregon area. Only a few were available by the glass and the per bottle prices were a little high.

Entree prices, however were reasonable for a downtown hotel restaurant. Service was friendly, a little slow but not intolerable. I would return for drinks and / or dinner when I am in the area again.
