“Comfortable, Clean & Conveniently Located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Staying at the Hotel Five was the perfect place when visiting Seattle. I recently stayed for three nights in one of their Deluxe Queen Rooms, facing the monorail. The room was very chic, clean, comfortable, and quiet, too. The room had all the basic amenities; e.g. TV, drawer space, magazines about Seattle, heating/cooling, safe, bathroom supplies, etc. The room even came with an umbrella for guests to take with them while walking around town when it rains. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided great suggestions and directions for tours, things to do and see, and places to eat. Max’s Café, which is attached to the hotel, is also a great place for breakfast before venturing out. Hotel Five is conveniently located in a great area. It’s about a 15-minute walk to and from all of the major attractions; e.g. the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, shopping, restaurants, public transit, etc. I was actually able to take the Light Link Rail from the airport to the Westlake Station stop, which again, is only a short walk to and from the hotel. There are not too many negative things that I can say, but I will mention a few minor matters: the lighting in the bathroom could have been a little brighter, it would have been nice if the room had a refrigerator, and the hotel’s fitness room was rather small. Despite those minor matters, I would still highly recommend the Hotel Five. It was the hospitality of the staff, the location, and the accommodations that won me over and made the Hotel Five such a great place to stay.

we were greeted by a friendly staff on thursday night. they were accomodative and relatively efficient - only my first credit card was declined and my second one accepted. i only found out later that they were both charged for the deposit. TBD on if they will be taken off.

the rooms were relatively nice. i stayed on the second floor facing blanchard street - a bit noisy at night but nothing too terrible (in comparison to manhattan). the room came with two water bottles and a keurig machine - nice small touch. the bathroom was a little bit dim with the lighting and the vent was a bit noisy. the walls were very thin! directly across from us were some teenage kids and screaming up and down the hallway.

colors in the room / overall hotel are also very bright. almost borderline too loud.

the parking lot was small. both upstairs and downstairs. they charged $15/day - on my last night i couldn't even park there cause it was completely full. they said they took the charge off for that - TBD on if it comes off.

walking distance to top pot and pike place chowder / starbucks - nice little perk!

overall not bad for the price given it's location.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and it was fabulous!
The hotel located right in downtown within walking distance to Pike Place Market ( Less than 2 miles), it's also not too far from the Century Link Stadium (Seahawks Stadium). We were lucky with the weather, so we rode the bikes (free rental) to the market, parked it there and walked to the stadium.
The room is a very nice size, the bathroom is super nice also. However, it does not have a tub, but the shower was awesome!
The decor is certainly different from any other hotel we ever stayed, but we both enjoyed it.
The only thing that we missed was a fridge...unfortunately the room we stayed didn't have one.
Overall, an awesome place and we are certainly planning in staying there again in the future.

The bad - expect to pay for parking on top of room charges.
Their is not evens. Continental breakfast. Coffee and tea only. And the cafe in the lobby doesn't even open until 7. Way over priced for the dismal breakfast offering which had to be repacked in a to go box because of the slow service
The walls are so then that the yelling on the streets leaves nothing to the imagination and you can hear every horse under the hood of every vehicle. All. Night. Long.
I'm pretty sure that the guests above me are not dancing salsa in their high heels for the past half hour
The ugly. - This room must have been a prior perfumery. The smell is so strong and the heater just renews the smell
The good - the floors are pretty

Room Tip: There are several hotels close by with better amenities. For reasonable prices. Pay the 10-15$ more...

Given the $105 rate I got, Hotel Five is an excellent value. Think an Aloft hotel, basically, expendable cheap modern furniture from Ikea or West Elm. It's within a few blocks of a handful of wonderful eateries... and a killer donut shop.

Originally had planned to stay at Hotel Five's sister property, The Maxwell Hotel, but found a better rate here. We couldn't have been happier! The moment we walked in the door, the staff greeted us and made us feel like very special guests. They were upbeat, friendly, offered us complimentary cupcakes (mmmmmmm...) and told us about the hotel's free bikes. We didn't really need them though, since Hotel Five is in easy walking distance to Pike Place and other downtown shopping. We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite and loved it. The rooms are decorated in a much-welcomed contemporary motif... so much better than cookie-cutter, impersonal, boring hotels. The beds and pillows are super comfy. Parking was actually a bargain compared to what we would have had to pay elsewhere, and they let us keep our car their the day we checked out so that we could walk around the city. Will definately make this our regular hotel when in Seattle.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to book a room that has monorail view... there's no noise at all, and the vi...
