“Perfect location”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights after a booking at the Warwick Hotel fell through. We were not disappointed with this hotel at all.

This hotel is perfectly located and we could walk to all of the tourist attractions. The hotel has quite a "funky vibe" and we really enjoyed it here.

The reception staff are friendly, however they did not always advertise all of the hotel features such as a complimentary shuttle van to take you around the tourist attractions (although you can easily walk to these places) and complimentary bike hire.

This hotel has free wi-fi, reasonable size rooms and generous toiletries in the rooms. Although our room looked out onto the Monorail, we did not find our room noisy at all and there were good black out blinds in the room.

The lobby is very welcoming and we often watched TV down there. There is a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch at the hotel. I would recommend a bagel for breakfast as it is only $2 and comes with all of the spreads.

This is a great hotel to stay at and you will enjoy being located in the heart of Seattle.

Hotel Five is great hotel and the location is pretty good if you want to be by Seattle center. The hotel is up 5th Ave and follows the monorail path. Looks like they are remodeling several businesses nearby. the hotel has bikes to rent. The hotel and room had
"groovy" decor. NIce and free amenities including water bottles and wifi. Tired of hotels that charge high prices for Internet.
Loved the pillows here and the dark shade over the window for blocking out the light.

As part of a 2-week group trip, we started and ended our tour in Hotel Five. I have to agree with other comments made regarding the convenient location and helpful staff. The monorail ran outside the front of the hotel and was somewhat of an annoyance but it did stop running during sleep hours. Just a few block walk to the Space Needle and Park. It felt safe walking. The breakfast was from a limited menu for our group. There were no complaints on the choices. Seating was limited when another group came in after us and there was waiting time to be seated. The small kitchen staff handled us very efficiently. The hotel does not offer lunch or dinner but there are many restaurants in the area as well as coffee/bakery shops.

Room Tip: I don't know if rooms away from the monorail area are available, but that should be considered i...

1. No need to add to the great reviews made by others.

2.The Service was far better than you would expect from a Hotel in this category. After staying i got a consumer survey to complete and mentioned in this I thought the lighting level was a little low in the room. I got a very nice e-mail back from the Manager thanking me and advising this was something they were tackling in fact. Best run Hotel I have come across for ages!

3.Others have also praised the location. because of its proximity to Pike Place and other attractions. However the fact that Belltown, the area in which the hotel is located, offers so much seem to have been omitted. There are many great Restaurants close to the Hotel (10 mins or less) so you are not obliged to go further dowtown. Anthonys on the Waterfront is 15 minutes away and the views from there are spectacular and the cuisine very good. Assaggio , a great Italian Restaurant on 4th St is less than 5 minutes walk.

4. Seattle has an excellent Bus Service . Taxis are plentiful. and not that expensive for short distances . Having a car here is not essential . We did not use ours the whole time and will not bring one when we come again.

Hotel 5 is an accurate depiction of recent reviews. Decent location and price per night.
I suppose when you consider the value, cleanliness and location it is above average. Set your expectations before arriving, it is a rather minimalist hotel. Free Wifi is a baseline at most hotel's these days. Free bikes are a perk but not needed for this easy-walking city.
If you check-in late, there is little open for foodies or those looking for a quick snack. There is a diner south of the hotel (stay away) where most travels are snared - referral from the concierge.
This is a refreshed hotel. While it is quaint and relatively modern it is definitely not hip.

Hotel Five has to be of the best lodging values in downtown Seattle by far. If you're looking for a luxury four seasons type of stay, then this is not your place. But if you're looking for a hip, modern, clean and comfortable hotel located within walking distance to all of the downtown attractions, then I would definitely suggest this place to anyone. The amenities were great (free city bikes, free cupcakes!), the rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff was super friendly and helpful (even when we checked in after 12am...) the bathrooms were very nice, showers were hot and very powerful. I tried hard to think about any downsides to this hotel, and the ONLY thing I can complain about is that the rooms were a little small - it was tough for two people with luggage to maneuver around the room and bag storage space was limited. But this point is minor if you're only using the room for downtime to rest at night - spend your time out in this amazing city and adventure!

Visiting Seattle this hotel is perfect it is a 10 minute walk to the needle 15-20 minute walk to Pikes Market. They make you feel very welcomed and are extremely helpful. The Decor is great, and they even have bikes for travelers to borrow there are only about 6 but they are free and even have the helmets. The rooms are small but cozy every room has a Keurig and the lobby has free Starbucks coffee. In the afternoon they have mini cupcakes that are wonderful. There is small resturant that is open for breakfast and lunch. Will definitely stay again if ever back in Seattle.
