This was a fabulous stay in Seattle. Located in a gorgeous leafy neighbourhood but still within walking distance to the city centre.
Brilliant hosts and gorgeous breakfasts with homemade muffins daily.

A lovely old house where you eat at a large family table makes it easy to meet guests and share travel advice.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Bacon Mansion for a single night in order to attend a performance of Wicked.

Overall the Bacon Mansion is a lovely place. Beautifully decorated with interesting art throughought. Daryl and the rest of his staff were very friendly and more then willing to help us when we asked.

Our room (the Emeral Suite) was very pleasant a great fireplace and many nice little touches. The Bed was incredibly comfortable. The claw foot tub is jsut gorgeous and very comfortable. However, it should be noted that both the bathtub and the shower are big enough for just one person.

However there are a few complaints.

I found the provided Breakfast dissapointing. While everything available was of very good quality, it was not what I have come to expect from a Bed and Breakfast. It was little more then a glorified continental breakfast offering Cereal, Blueberry Muffins(Fresh backed and tasty), and Fruit (fresh cut and tasty).

It also seems like the Bacon Mansion fails in the Minor details. The Bathroom supplies were an odd mix of high quality and low quality (Dial Antibacterial soap). While the room had a fireplace, it was not already stocked with wood, and I needed to ask for it. If I hadn't checked for it, we would not have been able to make use of the fire when we came back to our room around midnight.

Also, Parking can be very tricky at the Bacon Mansion. However that is more a constraint of being in the Capitol Hill district then anything else.

We stayed here for 3 nights with a groups of friends and had a wonderful time. It was better than being guests in a friend's home because Daryl and his helpers did everything and had everything done so lovely. From the amazing breakfast, to a fabulous night's sleep on new and comfortable mattresses with lovely pillows, everything was just right. We stayed in the carriage house ground floor suite and the coffee machine was ready for us to push the button in the morning whenever we liked before going over for breakfast. We highly recommend staying here.

I spent a couple of days in Seattle en route to San Juan. Being from Texas I wanted a pedestrian experience, and that's what I got. Bacon Mansion is a lovely old home, tastefully worn around the edges in the most cozy, and comforting way in an awesome neighborhood close to food, fun and transportation (I took the bus several times). Daryl seems a little dry a first, but there's a twinkle in his eye and you learn pretty quick he's a really nice guy and very helpful. The home is updated but still has "old house noises" and lots of character. The streets on either side of Broadway are ideal for walking and looking around (I've never seen so many different species of trees and plants) and Broadway offers a wide array of people watching and places to eat. Breakfast consisted of the usual fare with the exception of the awesome homemade muffins. Cranberry/Orange was my favorite. I highly recommend it with one caveat that I'll note in the "choose a good room" box.

Room Tip: The Rose Room is perfect for one person. But being in the center of the house (the former laundry ro...

We spent three nights in Seattle at this large B&B in one of the lower floor rooms. The room was large and quiet. Pleasant personal attention from Darryl (manager/owner). The surrounding area includes a nice mix of residential streets and restaurants and clubs. Parking is either in the premises or nearby streets and was not a problem. Volunteer Park with the Seattle Asian Art Museum and a noteworthy conservatory are just a couple of blocks away. Breakfast was average and consisted of muffins, cereals, yogurt and fresh cut fruit. The mansion has been lovely restored.

Bacon Mansion was very clean with an amazing old charm. We stayed in carriage loft room with private entrance, frig, microwave, coffee maker, hot chocolate variety of teas, wifi throughout mansion. 10 minute walk to bars and restaurants, Continental breakfast in beautiful dining room consisted of choice of cereals, juice, mixed fruit and yogurt, coffee & tea. Bed were comfortable and area was quiet for a good nights sleep. Owner could have been more friendly, never smiled and seemed he didnt like his job, overall would highly recommend Bacon Mansion.

Room Tip: All rooms are in the mansion except Carriage house suite and Carriage loft suite.

It's a big house very well situated in downtown Seattle ..but not runed by the owners..it managed in a cold way by a person in charge of housekeeping. Didn't feel really like at home there ..rooms don't seems to be really clean..and the breakfast is pretty poor ..muffin & a cup of fruits . We are not desapointed, but we will not be back..there is much better places where to stay.
