The space needle is the icon of Seattle's skyline and offers amazing views of Seattle. We went on a beautiful and sunny day that offered great views of Mt. Rainer. My husband and I explored the best options for the tickets. After looking at all of the options, we decided to eat at the Sky City restuarant because the observation deck access is included. There is a minimum $25 per person requirement, but this is totally worth it given the $19 regular price for just the observation deck ticket.

I thought the Space Needle would be like just like any other towers around the world - you go up, see the sights, perhaps go have lunch/dinner at the observation deck restaurant and then come down.

But when I went up the tower, I came back down having fallen in love with the city! The view from up there is simply breathtaking.

I was actually a little disappointed with the Space Needle. I think it was over priced to be honest. Great views yes, but I wanted more information about the architecture and how it was built etc. Food in the cafe bits was over priced too - we paid less for a hotdog at the Mariners game a couple of days beforehand.
I can think of better ways to spend the entrance fee.

Make sure you purchase the VIP tickets... for about $10 more you surpass the entire long line of people waiting for elevator to get to the top. Once at the top, you will see some magnificent views of Puget Sound (the marina) and Seattle. Its such a beautiful city with friendly folks.

Can't beat the spectacular 360 views. Plus they will take your group's photo for free and email to you so you can print on your own. How can you go to Seattle and not visit the Space Needle? Admission was a little high but what are you going to do? There is a food court in the area that offers a wide variety of food to please everyone.
