“Nice trendy hotel with great staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

This is another winner Hyatt hotel in my book. The hotel is fronted as "green" and is definitely marketed to a more trendy crowd than the Grand Hyatt located around the corner.

The room is good sized, bed's nice with a good TV, I was by the elevator which was convenient but louder than I generally like. Also this hotel seems to be less insulated so I could hear more from adjacent rooms.

Location is great near the downtown shopping district, westlake light rail and transit center and the monorail that goes over by the Space Needle.

Probably my only complaint was that there was no shower door so it was hard to keep the bathroom floor dry. Definitely a minor complaint over all.

We stayed here by chance several years ago for new years eve and have loved this place ever since. The staff is very helpful and the location is great. Most everything in downtown and cap hill is within walking distance. Proximity to the westlake light rail station makes getting around Seattle very easy.
I would recommend this hotel for stays with children. The pool area is fantastic.

My only complaint is the lack of free wifi in the rooms. While it is easy to find free wifi around Seattle (the lobby of the hotel and most every coffee shop) I find it rather odd and cheap of this particular place to require a fee based system for the rooms.

Room Tip: The rooms on the west side of the hotel always seem larger. Perhaps b/c the rooms do not have a view...

I stayed here for work in October of 2012. The location was great, and the staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I asked for. My package included a morning breakfast in the restaurant, but it was open yet the morning I had to leave, and room service wasn't included. They made an exception, called room service, and had them bring me breakfast in the lobby so I wouldn't have to leave hungry. The front desk staff was completely amazing. Thanks!

First of all, thank you to Victoria, the EXCELLENT front desk agent who was sooo nice, and let us stay in a great room on the top floor. She was professional, friendly, and delightful--she needs and deserves a raise! Also, the pool, jacuzzi, and locker room facilities were just wonderful. The rate, via Hotwire, was also very nice ($101 incl. taxes)....thanks Hyatt Olive 8, and thanks Victoria!

I snuckaway with Sniqueaway this month and booked LEED silver awarded Hyatt at Olive 8 in Seattle. I love a property that strives to do better, Hyatt at Olive 8 is now trying to achieve a higher LEED status. European, minimalist rooms with luxurious linens and an occasional worn towel, its very "green" after all - this hotel is the perfect blend of comfort, location and small footprint (windows do not open). Floors up to 16 are hotel above that belong to lucky condo owners. More than adequate gym (eucalyptus cool wash cloths for after your work-out provided), lap pool and full luxury spa. Urbane offers local farm to table fare, we started with happy hour stayed through dinner and eventually shared a bottle of wine (unusually high mark up must be that new alcohol WA State initiative) and an entree. Valet parking is $42.00, self-park $30.00 however lot across the street is $20.00 for $24 hours. Very helpful bellman and valet Khang reminded me of my room number when I left with only my key after forgetting something in my car. Check out the natural habitat green roof. Free Wi Fi in the lobby. This is my second stay at Olive 8 and I would not hesitate to book again. I stay in the city often solo and prefer hotels east of 5th, more panhandlers and homeless closer to Pike Place Market (exceptions Edgewater, Inn at the Market, Fairmont etc).

What a treat in comparison to Hyat Bellevue. Located in the heart of downtown, you are walking distance from shoping, restaurants and Pike Market.
Great deal for you money. If you are AAA memebre than breakfast is included. Parking is around $40 per night. Almost forgot gym and pool.

Loved staying in this hotel. Very noisy guests in room next door security were excellent in the way they dealt with this situation. The breakfast menu is great and food of a high standard. The location is perfect if you've business meetings in Seattle CBD
