“Funky and artistic”

This was a fantastic place to stay with a definite "feel" of Seattle. Located in a great spot in Belltown with easy access to both the downtown area, as well as easy to explore other neighborhoods. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were my favorite part! Art galore and put together with a great eye for color, composition and lighting. I had a private room and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the people who stayed here. Lots of really really great restaurants nearby, well worth a visit. I would highly recommend this to those traveling solo/young couples/groups of friends.

Room Tip: Bring earplugs. Since it is a hostel, walls are thin and it can get loud.

I came here with the intention of just staying somewhere between sightseeing.

However, the friendliness and courteousness of the staff could not be faulted, I witnessed them phone over 8 different hotels in trying to get a couple a room.

Rooms were wonderfully painted by local artists and, although functional, were perfect for my needs.

Bathrooms and showerrooms were cared for and clean and the free breakfast showed a level of attention to needs that you might find in a higher end hotel.

In short, I was amazed by this gem and will certainly use it next time I come here

This was are first time at a hostel. This trip we were on a budget and downtown Seattle was rather pricey. After reading the reviews here we decided to try it out. We arrived via plane and took the link with directions provided on the hostel website. It was a not long of a walk from the station to the hostel. I was glad I was with my boyfriend as we got it late and there were several panhandlers but nothing too scary. I am sure it would fine to be a female alone doing this walk during the day.

We found check in to be easy and the staff friendly. They did ask for id which I suppose is a standard hostel thing. Are private room with shared bath was nice enough for the price with Ikea type furnishings. There was a sink with mirror in the room which was handy for getting ready.

The location is great! We walked to Pike Place, the waterfront and Pioneer Square from here. there is also a simple free breakfast with cereal, fruit, toast, coffee etc.

My only complaint would be that because there is no AC the window is open with a fan inside. Early in the morning what I think was a seagull was VERY loud and what sounded like a recycling truck would pick up glass very early in the morning keeping us both from sleeping past 7 AM. So perhaps ask for a room on the right side of the building if going in the summer.

All and all it was a great stay and I would return. Because of well this went we will try a hostel again!

The location is great: 10 min walk to both pike place market and seattle center.
The hostel itself is great: there is a theatre (although i have no time to enjoy); free breakfast - including fruits, bread, butter, jam, cereal. etc; you can borrow almost everything needed there.
The staff are really nice: they said that quite a lot of the staff live in the hostel, so they regard the hostel itself as the home for everybody. They are really nice, energetic, and happy all the time.

I have now stayed at this hostel twice, for in total near two weeks. If ever I am back in Seattle this will always be my first choice.

The hostel is clean, well maintained and comfortable, nowhere else in the world have I stayed in a hostel with mattresses quite as good. (The pillows, as in every hostel in the world, are still sub par)

The hostel has loads of amenities, a library, computer room, games room, theater and even a hot tub!!!

Within walking distance of Seattles main attractions, Pike Place, EMP Museum, Seattle Center, Downtown. It is also not far from the Greyhound station and is near public bus routes.

It is however not well signposted tho not impossible to find.

Room Tip: No elevator tho there are ground floor rooms if you're lazy.

I know people hear the word 'hostel' and get a little wary but there is absolutely no reason to be wary of this one. It is clean and spacious and the staff was extremely kind and accomodating. You must show your key card every time you enter and only registered guests may enter so there is a definite safe feeling there (may not be your kind of place if you want to bring guests over). There is a quiant courtyard with a hot tub (though it was out of order during our visit) and complimentary breakfast every morning. Free computer lab usage, also. The kitchen was clean and we made dinner and breakfast often (they provide all utensils, pots, pans etc. A full stove, microwave, teapot). We had our own private room with en suite bathroom. It's very basic but if you're just looking for a roof over your head, it's perfect. The only complaint I have is the noise at night due to some sort of glass recycling next door. This isn't the hostel's fault and they are aware of it but so far there is nothing they can do. Maybe it will be taken care of by the time you visit! It's within walking distance to the City Center and Pike Place Market as well as many bars and restaurants.
