This was are first time at a hostel. This trip we were on a budget and downtown Seattle was rather pricey. After reading the reviews here we decided to try it out. We arrived via plane and took the link with directions provided on the hostel website. It was a not long of a walk from the station to the hostel. I was glad I was with my boyfriend as we got it late and there were several panhandlers but nothing too scary. I am sure it would fine to be a female alone doing this walk during the day.
We found check in to be easy and the staff friendly. They did ask for id which I suppose is a standard hostel thing. Are private room with shared bath was nice enough for the price with Ikea type furnishings. There was a sink with mirror in the room which was handy for getting ready.
The location is great! We walked to Pike Place, the waterfront and Pioneer Square from here. there is also a simple free breakfast with cereal, fruit, toast, coffee etc.
My only complaint would be that because there is no AC the window is open with a fan inside. Early in the morning what I think was a seagull was VERY loud and what sounded like a recycling truck would pick up glass very early in the morning keeping us both from sleeping past 7 AM. So perhaps ask for a room on the right side of the building if going in the summer.
All and all it was a great stay and I would return. Because of well this went we will try a hostel again!
