“Great place to stay; but watch cost of reservation changes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2011

Great place to stay. Reports of highway noise in other reviews are exaggerated. I am sensitive to such things and it was simply not an issue.

We walked practically everywhere from this great location. Don't let the proximity to interstate 5 throw you. Pedestrian traffic is beautifully accommodated, and protected, in Seattle and there is a walkway/sidewalk straight down Pike. Coming back will be mostly uphill so it is a little harder if you aren't in shape.

The only problem we had was a need to leave, unexpectedly, a day early. Our room rate for our entire stay was impacted. Never had a Hilton brand do this to me before. :(

Overall though good suite hotel. Clean. Can't beat location.

SESomers,

We value your feedback and appreciate the nice comments about the outside sounds. Many of our guests find that the downtwon side of the hotel is vibrant and they are not effected by the sounds.

We do have pricing policies that provide value to our guests for differing lengths of stay; however, we are always willing to speak with our guests and determine if there are opportunities to make changes on an individual basis. Please contact me directly at the hotel to discuss your situation and see if we can go back over your folio.

Warm regards,

Scott

I was in Seattle for a convention and spent eight nights at this hotel. It was very nice and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area of the convention center. I was in room 819, top floor on the courtyard side, not the street side of the hotel. This is important as the streets are busy and noisy. I had reserved a non-suite room because of the price, but as a Hilton honors Gold member, I was able to talk to the desk cleark and got upgraded to a full suite with separate bedroom, large living room, full kitchen, and giant bathroom. The living room was particularly nice with an instant-on gas fireplace, sofa, and arm chair.

As with most Homewood Suites, this included the full breakfast (waffles, assorted breads, fruits, eggs, bacon or sausage, and potatoes. Unlike many, this hotel also included a free dinner buffet on Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm that included an entree, (chicken breast, manocotti, meatballs), a salad bar, a vegetable, and cookies as well as beer and wine. Not a gourmet meal, but sometimes just enough after a busy day.

The hotel had laundry facilities on several floors and a pool table, outdoor swimming pool, and hot tub, open even in mid-November.

Valet parking was $32.00 per day plus $4.00 taxes. Expensive, but about the same as other nearby hotels. There is really no need for a car as the hotel is about 4 block from the subway that goes to the airport, as well as the monorail that goes to the space needle. The hotel fronts Pike street, which also is a major bus line. Buses are free in the downtown Seattle area during the business day (7:00am to 7:00pm, I think) There are many shops and restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Be sure to ask for a courtyard room. Interstate highway 5 goes under the convention center and is very noisy right beside the hotel.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a courtyard room. Interstate Highway 5 runs under the convention center, next to...

Stayed here for 3 nights in Nov. The first night we were on the top (9th) floor, street side. It was implied by the front desk that this higher up location was quiet - NOT! Neither my wide an I slept much at all that night. Must be why they have earplugs in the rooms, but I can't sleep with those either.

For the 2nd & 3rd nights we moved to a room facing the inner courtyard, Wow! what a difference. Very quiet and relaxing.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was typical hotel complimentary buffet style. Ok, but mostly a means of sustenance. The cut fruit each day seemed kind of old. Fortunately they also put out bananas and apples.

Location is good. We found it close enough for walking to a variety of attractions and restaurants (we like to walk). The farthest we went was the Pike street market for lunch one day which was probably a 30 minute walk.

Parking is pricey, but typical of a downtown metro hotel.

I would definitely stay here again but ONLY if I could be assured of an inner/courtyard room.

Room Tip: If traffic noise bothers you, make sure you get an inner courtyard room. you lose the view of the c...

The staff here was tremendously helpful with parking assistance, dining recommendations, etc. Parking is expensive, but probably cheaper and hassle-free here.

The first thing you need to know is that there are two Homewood Suites by Hilton in Seattle: "Convention Center/Pike Street" and "Downtown". This review is for the Convention Center location, which is situated on top of the partially covered I-5 freeway (not as bad as it sounds). I was on travel for work and stayed three nights. I was impressed by the size and layout of the 1-bedroom suite. It had a separate bedroom with dresser, a "living room" with pull-out couch bed, desk and dresser, and a kitchen with stove, dishes, cookware and dishwasher! I didn't do any cooking on this trip but if I were traveling with family this would have been perfect. Bathroom was large, with shower and tub. There wasn't any noise from inside the hotel but my room overlooked the city and there was some street noise. Breakfast was included and there was a moderate spread of cold and hot choices. I think coffee and tea were available 24/7. The hotel is 2-3 blocks from the Convention Center, about 7 blocks from Pike Place Market and even the space needle is walkable distance. Note: Seattle is hilly and you will be doing some walking as this hotel is on a hill!

Room Tip: Rooms facing Pike Place (west?) have some street noise, suggest asking for a room facing the opposit...

The room I had was very nice with a kitchenette and large bathroom. I liked the way the bathroom lighting would gradually get brighter (much easier on the eyes when first waking up). I would recommend making use of the valet parking as the hotel underground parking is narrow and difficult to negotiate. Rooms have cable TV with Showtime. Breakfast is included everyday and supper Tuesday through Thursday. All of downtown Seattle is a short downhill walk away (watch out for the uphill on the way back).

Room Tip: There will be less street noise if you ask for a courtyard view

sjoconn,

Thank you very much for your kind feedback about our hotel. We are pleased that you enjoyed our room as well as our amenities. The nice comment about the bathroom lighting is great - all too often we overlook simple touches like great bathroom lighting. We hope to see you again when you return to Seattle.

Second stay here having previously stayed at the Westin and Hilton downtown, location is next to Convention Center and about 5-7 mins walk to main streets/ shops and 7-10 mins to Pike Place Market.
Rooms are large although some noisy, ask for one over the courtyard.
Free evening drinks/ light meal 5-7pm, free internet and printing, free breakfast.
Front desk staff a bit flaky but generally good.
First choice now whenever I'm in Seattle

Room Tip: Over the courtyard is much quieter
