If your destination is Capital Hill area, be sure to stay at Gaslight Inn. Bennett (Steve) is a fantastic host. He provides you great advice on where to go and how to get there. Our room, 102, is very spacious with a comfortable bed and pillows. The temps in Seattle were around 80, even without air conditioning the room was very comfortable. The continental breakfast provides just enough to get your day started.

All of the pics on Gaslight's website are extremely accurate!

Room Tip: We had room 102, it has a mini fridge, full bath and another water closet (sink only) off the main b...

Recently stayed at Gaslight for a few days, it was a perfect little gem. The owners are so warm, the pool was a nice retreat after a day in the city. It's well maintained, super clean and tucked away in one of the best neighborhoods in the city. Loved being far enough away from downtown, but within walking distance to so many great restaurants, cafes and bars. Would definitely stay here again when I return to Seattle.

We recently stayed in room 106, which is on the third floor. The room was nicely decorated and the bed and chairs were very comfortable. The carpet was also super comfy! The room has a fantastic view of Seattle--you can see the water and Space Needle. The house is gorgeous--beautifully decorated with really interesting art peices throughout. There's a pool, which we didn't get a chance to use, but looked nice. The staff and owner were extremely welcoming and seemed to sincerely enjoy having guests. We only stayed one night, and had a schedule packed with sight-seeing, so we didn't take advantage of the breakfast. My only complaint was the room got pretty warm, I think because it's on the third floor with big windows. Granted, I never complained to the staff or asked for a fix beyond the fan provided. It cooled down at night, though.

Room Tip: If a view is a priority, 106 is great. It does get warm up there, though, and the bathroom is on the...

We stayed in the room on the top floor - the one with the view. Wow. Seeing the skyline at night was wonderful. The whole house and garden is beautiful, and our hosts were excellent, giving us good suggestions of activities, restaurants, how to get around and even which were the best coffee shops to go to for a fix. Breakfast was a simple but tasty help-yourself affair, but that suited us fine. We made good use of the swimming pool.

The room we stayed in was a little hot (old house - no a/c), but they had provided a fan for our use that definitely helped. Having the bathroom on a separate floor was more than worth it for the view. We will definitely try to stay here again if we are back in Seattle.

We spent two delightful nights at the Gaslight Inn in a lovely upstairs room on the rear of the building overlooking the swimming pool and the Space Needle (room 105). The inn is decorated stunningly with Mission furniture on the ground floor and tasteful art & curiosities throughout. It is lovingly managed by Mary and Bennet who are both charming and welcoming with lots of advice as to where to dine/explore in the lively Capitol Hill neighbourhood and environs. Parking is not a problem as guest parking passes were readily provided. The morning continental breakfast was pleasant with homemade breads and a good cup of coffee. The inn is a great value in a very central area of greater Seattle. You will not be disappointed by the charm and comfort of this lovely property.

A beautiful house in a great neighborhood with comfortable rooms and excellent service--what more do you want? We stayed in room 104 at the front of the house, a large comfy suite with private bath. At night it's perfectly quiet, but the traffic does get busy around 7:30 am, and the room faces east so if you like to sleep late you might prefer a different room. Breakfast is simple but good and healthful, served communally, although you can eat outside if you're not feeling sociable.

Ideal for an "en amoureux" getaway with its charming period rooms, fire place and cosy sitting room. Ask for a room with view on the Seattle skyline and garden. It is very confortable and clean and quiet. There is also a nice garden with palm trees and a heated swimming pool which are great after a day of visiting in Seattle. The neighborhood has lots of good restaurants, you only need to ask the host for recommendation. What's more it is close to downtown which can be easily reached with public transportation or by foot. We really enjoyed the place and recommend it warmly.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with a view on the Seattle skyline
