“Great hotel nearby the Pike Place Market”
Reviewed March 13, 2011

The location is really good, just 5 minutes walk from the Pike Place Market, the Seatlle Art Museum & the Underground tour.

Our room was in the newest "tower" just by the elevator (n° 341)
It was pretty spacious, with a modern design (we even had an iPod station with speakers as an alarm)and very clean.
The sound proofing is also great, as we didn't hear any noise during the 2 nights we stayed there (either from the street or from the elevator).
The bed was perfect, neither to soft nor too hard, with 6 different pillows, so you can really choose, according to your taste.

Staff is nice & helpful.

The only "problem" is that the wi-fi wasn't working really in the room (it was on an ipod, might be better with a laptop though).

We were in town for a week and stayed at the Alexis. As a disclaimer, I will tell you I am a fan of the Kimpton group and feel they do an outstanding job. We have stayed at the Hotel Monaco in Seattle previously and decided to try something different. The Alexis was well designed and comfortable. We had a deluxe king overlooking Spring street from the second floor. The room was very large, with a separate sittling room. The bed was comfortable and the room met all of our needs. The location of the hotel is great! A few short blocks and you are at the piers, at pike place market, or at SAM (seattle museum of art). The hotel restaurant only serves breakfast, but there is a cute little bar a that served nice snacks. Cheese plates, blue cheese French fries (yum!), and other bar snacks. Needles to say there are also plenty of choices in the area. Also if you are not afraid of public transit, my husband and i took the light rail to and from the airport. It is about 2 blocks to the university station from the hotel.

I've been traveling to Seattle on business for five years now and would not consider staying anywhere else. I stay here when I spend my own money on vacations to Seattle as well! The beds are incredibly comfortable. The rooms are well designed and clean, and kept up to date. The bar is pleasant and comfortable, with good food and great drinks. The staff is excellent and truly values customer service. I also love that pets are welcome!

Excellent location, wonderful staff, perfect hotel. I love the sensitivity to the environment that this chain shows. My personal favorite part is the organic tea in the lobby each morning.

I love the Alexis hotel, every staff member was friendly and welcoming and my room was very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable.

Make sure to have breakfast in the library room, such a nice way to start the day, so yummy.

And, it was really nice to receive a wake up call from a real person wishing you a good day. These little touches are what make me want to find a Kimpton when I travel.

We have been to Seattle before but this was our first time staying at Hotel Alexis. We choose it after having a great experience at Hotel Monaco, another Kimpton Hotel, in Portland, OR in April 2010. We knew what to expect in regards to quality of the hotel and we were not disappointed. What is overall the best attribute to this hotel is its location to major tourist attractions, the water and public transportation. If you're looking to take advantage of all three, this is the place to be!

As usual, our latest stay at the Alexis was great! We enjoy the location, there are a number of really good restaurants in walking distance and the shopping and activities are relatively easy to get to. The staff were great, no matter what their position in the hotel, they all checked in with us to see how our stay was going. We love relaxing before dinner with their wine tasting. We have found some great new wine discoveries, they often have local wine we hadn't tried before. Being a Kimpton repeat customer, our preferences were all catered to, including the type of pillows and our newspaper preference. We really enjoy the high quality of the art displayed throughout the hotel and our room showcased a local glass blowing artist, Canlis, that included pictures of him and his team blowing glass, an album of his creations amd some of his glass was on display. As well, our teenage daughter enjoys the luxury of the suite we booked. The Alexis is our favourite Seattle get-away, we'll be back soon!
