The Alexis was a perfect hotel for exploring downtown Seattle. Huge suite, nice service, and you could walk almost everywhere to the city's attractions. The umbrella provided in the room proved to be especially helpful. We also enjoyed the complimentary brownies to welcome us to the hotel.

Looks like you got caught in a little bit of our PNW rain? I’m happy to hear that the umbrella came in handy! That’s what we like to hear. Thank you for sharing your stay with us! We hope to have you back again for another great stay. Take care!

We stayed one night in June to celebrate our anniversary. We were offered an upgrade to a spa room and we took it. Wow, what a room! The room was probably close to 1000 square feet and the bathroom was bigger than many apartments! The spa tub was huge and deep.

The hotel is spread across three old brick buildings joined together. As such, there are quirks about the layout, but they add to the charm, and were not a problem at all. The room had very high ceilings, and was incredibly large, with a bit of a water view from the window. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

The hotel has a cool little bar, but what really sets it apart from other hotels in the area is the service. The concierge knew about all of the best restaurants and gave us some great suggestions. They hotel has free bikes to use which we took advantage of. They have an afternoon wine and snack reception which was great.

In general, the staff went to great lengths to ensure we had an enjoyable stay.

The only downside is the traffic nearby. It took about 30 minutes by taxi to travel about 2 miles from Lake Union to the hotel because of rush hour traffic in downtown Seattle. Not the hotel's fault of course.

The location is great for walking to the stadiums, Pioneer Square, Pike Place, the waterfront, or other downtown locations. Everything was close by. The Link light rail station to the airport was about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, so airport access was very easy as well.

I hope we can go back soon!

Room Tip: Upgrade to the spa room. It's worth it!

Everything from the staff to the bed I slept on, was excellent. The guys who worked the valet were polite and informative, the front desk lovely, our room was very nice and the bed was super comfortable. We even were able to book the steam room one morning before leaving later that day. I highly recommend the Alexis to anyone who is traveling downtown whether on business or vacation. Coffee was great in the lobby and tea selection was nice too. They also offered terrific Granny Smith Apples. Yummy! Iced Tea in the afternoon was just perfect as well. I will return if I am ever back this way again. Thank You Kimpton! It made our stay just perfect.

Room Tip: May want to ask for room facing the water. :-)

This was our third visit to Alexis hotel, every time it has been exceptional. The staff is lovely, the rooms are all a little different and cozy and the location is perfect.
If you've never stayed at a kimpton, stay once (stay here) and you'll be hooked!

We stayed here for a couple of days on our first visit to Seattle with two children. We selected an Executive Suite and were very pleased with it. Ours was a set of fairly large rooms located on one of the building's corners and offering a great view of the water with the Olympic National Park in the distant background. Throughout our stay we found all of the members of staff to be extremely helpful and friendly... I requested a goldfish for the room and one was waiting for the children on arrival... My wife forgot a few items and they were immediately brought up to us by the hotel... One day, one of our party felt unwell and the room service team brought her an unrequested pot of tea thinking it might help. All very good.
The location is indeed very good as many people have mentioned. A short walk to many of the famous areas - Pikes Place in one direction and Pioneer Square in the other with the Waterfront just a block away down the hill. The Space Needle is a touch further but the funky old monorail is not far at all (by the original Nordstrom). We had a car and the hotel was not hard to drive to. I'm glad we had one as it makes it easier to get to some of the cool further away places to see e.g. the Fish Ladder, Fremont area etc. The valet parking was pretty expensive and on this occasion a AAA membership certainly paid for itself by halving the price.
We had room service a few times for different meals and the standard of the food was of a high quality though the menu was somewhat limited in choices. As for the hotel itself, it is a collection of old historic building internally linked together. There is a rotating display of some pretty cool local art throughout the public areas. I really liked that together with other small touches around the place, from the wine receptions to the loaner bikes. Its got a fairly cool vibe to it. Constructive criticism? Perhaps there is a sense that some of the fixtures could benefit from a refresh. I always find something as simple and minor as what a guest room door looks like as informative. Fairly dated in this case. Another irritation would be the strange minibar pricing structure. Entire bottles of Washington State wine were very reasonably priced when you think what a hotel minibar usually charges for a full bottle of wine. But then it was the inverse on the little bottles of spirits and packets of chips - probably the most expensive I have seen in the USA. Not a major deal but it was fairly odd.

However, added all together the place works and is a welcoming place to stay. I think it sets the tone nicely for the City itself.

The Alexis is a great little hotel perfectly situated in downtown Seattle near the water and a couple blocks from Pike Place Market. We stayed in the Fireplace suite which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable with a real working fireplace. The staff is excellent and attends to your every need quickly and cheerfully. When we asked for a taxi to take us to the airport they suggested a private car at the same cost, but much cleaner and more reliable. The library bar downstairs is very original and serves local craft brews. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Thank JefferyKent for such a wonderful review! I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed our Fireplace Suite. It’s pretty amazing isn’t it? I have to say it is my favorite suite type in the whole hotel! I’m also happy to hear that you had a great experience with our town car drivers. They are fantastic and very reliable. We like to suggest them because they can be prearranged, unlike taxis. It’s a nice system. Well we thank you again for being our guests and we hope to have you back again soon!

We stayed here after Christmas and during New Year's. The lobby is somewhat small but charming. The rooms all vary in size but ours was huge! The beds were comfortable and our room was nice and quite too! It's only about 2 blocks to Pike's place and you are within walking distance to lots of places. We had tweens with us and we pretty much walked everywhere. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the larger rooms with water views.
