“Great hotel - Excellent customer service”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We stayed here for a full week and enjoyed it immensely. The location is perfect...just a few blocks from Pike Place market and very close to the ferries. After a full day of sight-seeing, we looked forward to returning home to our room at the Alexis - we always received a warm, friendly greeting. Loved our room on the top floor - very quiet, nice view, lots of space and the bed was super comfortable. The complimentary 5-6pm wine hour made for an excellent start to our evenings.

Room Tip: We stayed in a corner suite on the top floor -- room 640 -- it was HUGE and quiet and the floor to c...

I'm excited to see that you enjoyed your trip! The wine hour is a pretty great thing to come back too after a day of adventuring the city. We hope to see you guys again soon!

This is a boutique hotel in a 110 year old downtown building. The place would get 5 stars except that the rooms are not cleaned when you want them. Good points: comfortable beds, big rooms and quiet; free coffee in the morning plus free newspapers and plenty of them. The cleaning staff has zero English and who knows whether they are told when to clean. Well located in downtown and near the Pike Place Market and the Seattle Art Museum. Not cheap.

Stay over service is offered from the early morning to mid afternoon. If service is wanted at a specific time, we are more then happy to accommodate that request for you at the front desk. We apologize for the miscommunication of this situation, but are glad that you enjoyed the over all experience. Thank you for being our guest, and I hope we’ll get to show you the full potential of the Alexis your next visit.

I stayed here for 9 nights. The Alexis is in a perfect location for sight-seeing, half way between Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market and close to public transport links. I asked for a street-view room and was given a very large, 2 bed room with quirky very comfortable furnishings, excellent beds, proper black-out curtains and plenty of storage space. The bathroom was spotless, everything worked and the Bigelow potions were excellent so you don't need to take your own. Wifi was superb, with a consistently good connection and fast download speeds.
The service in the hotel was superb - they go to great pains to provide everything you might need, both physically (they will lend you a bicycle) and with information. Great extras are free coffee in the lobby from 05.30 - great if you wake early after a flight west - then iced tea and water during the day, and wine in the early evening.
My only quibble, which might not bother everyone, is the breakfast. They do not provide a buffet but rather a full-service breakfast which is not particularly quick - we waited up to 10 minutes to be seated in a far-from-full room - and tends to get expensive. If you like a relaxed start then fine but if you're in a hurry you may want to breakfast elsewhere.

Green Features: Very good, with a bin for re-cyclables in every room.

The Alexis is in a great location in Seattle. A couple of blocks from the ferries for day trips and a few blocks from Pike's. It is an older looking hotel but has character. Service is great and the 5-6 wine hour makes for a nice start for the evening.

Our suite was nicely decorated and the bathroom was the size of our living room at home (plus a huge tub with jets). Our son received an activity set at check in and relaxed in the comfy chairs in the lobby. He especially loved the gold fish pet and gummy bears in the room. Our dog was living it up! Huge dog beds and treats. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to stay again.

Pack you fashion forward outfits and some casual west coast gear to this well thought out boutique vibe hotel. The original artwork is great! Thank you for not installing the usual "please all" variety of matchy stuff. The Library Bistro is intriguing, good food and actual books(!) that appear to be curated on a variety of subjects. You can bring the kids, but probably more fun for adults only.

We stayed three nights. The service was outstanding: friendly, helpful and courteous. On our last morning, our breakfast was delayed because the kitchen also was serving a large business group. When we raised the problem with the waitperson, a supervisor immediately came to our table to apologize and offer to take the meal off our tab. Our only quibble with the hotel -- and the reason we didn't give it 5 stars -- is that the lighting in our room was insufficient and small repairs needed to be made. Also, this is a dog friendly hotel, but our housekeeper was afraid of our 12-lb (and extremely friendly) dog!
