“Stylish & well-situated city hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

The Alexis was one of two Kimpton hotels we stayed at in Seattle during a week's touring holiday in the Pacific Northwest. It's ideally situated for Pike's Place market and the various waterfront attractions. We were out a lot so we didn't get much of a chance to sample the hotel's own amenities, but breakfast at the Library Bistro was great. The biggest plus was our room (#445), a large twin bed deluxe on the 4th floor. It was the biggest of any we stayed at during our tour, with an attractive view over 1st Ave, stripped red brick walls behind the bed, and a stylish desk and sofa. Big TV too. Bathroom was great as well (markedly superior to our same-price room at the Kimpton Monaco hotel a few days earlier), with a roomy walk-in shower. Valet parking was very efficient, and front desk team were helpful and friendly. Would definitely return. If you're stuck for a choice between the Alexis and the Monaco, on the basis of our personal experience we'd recommend the Alexis for position, views and value for money.

Thank you for the review! Glad to hear you were able to experience two of Kimpton's properties during your time in Seattle. Thanks for your kind words on our team. I will also be happy to pass on your remarks to the Monaco :) See you next time!

We really didn't expect for the rooms to be so small. We weren't sure why one of the lifts smelt so bad. Overall the state of the hotel was average and perhaps overpriced for what you get. We did enjoy drinks a few times in the Bookstore bar. And dinner at Boca opposite to the hotel was exceptional.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. It's a rare treat to find a sitter to watch the kids overnight so it's a treat to get away for the night- and the Alexis made it that much more special! The staff was polite and friendly, quick to offer suggestions for dining or entertainment. The Seattle Art Museum places pieces in the hotel, rotating them quarterly. It was a pleasure to find beautiful and interesting works of art tucked here and there. The room was quiet, buffered both from street noise and from other lodgers. The location was convenient for access to Pike Place Market and many other window shopping opportunities. It was relaxing and romantic- and just perfect for us!

I highly recommend staying at the Alexis, they treat you like you are special and the service is fantastic. I also have two pups that travel with me and they are treated like royalty! Anything you need is delivered to you or if you are having any problems they are right there to fix it. For example, TV was having problems - only took 5 minutes for someone to come and solve the problem. When you need/want your car it is there. I mentioned I would need my car soon after shopping and they had it ready when I got back!

Room Tip: Second floor suites are wonderful, quiet and great for pups as there are no rooms under them so they...

Good location, and the staff is uniformly friendly and helpful. But what really put this place over the top for us was our room. We had the Author's Suite, and it was amazing. Palatial in size, beautifully decorated--it even had a fireplace. With the online deal for the room that we had, it was an incredible bargain.

This was our first time to Seattle and heard great reviews on here and we were definitely not dissappointed. We were so lucky to get a room upgrade to the Art Museum Suite, and what an upgrade it was! Suite was HUGE and it had 2 bathrooms..unheard of! Needless to say, as we stepped into our suite, our mouths dropped to the ground (see pics). Clean, beautiful decor, nice view. What a treat!

The amenities offered were fantastic, even down to the little things. Glad I didn't take any shampoo or conditioner, because I knew they had some good stuff in the bathroom, make your packing lighter. Extra outlets at bedside to charge your electronics, Nice little alarm clock with usb to hook up and charge your iphone/ipod, full size hair dryer (not like those rinky-dink ones you find attached to hotel walls), robes in one of the 4 closets in the suite, an umbrella to use, and warm fuzzy socks if you want to buy. They pretty much think of everything. Oh and the bikes you can use in the lobby too.

We were a short walking distance to Pikes Place and all the local bests. We had good breakfast at the Library Bistro and loved the decor. Because we only stayed for a weekend, we had a jam packed schedule and weren't able to take advantage of the wine happy hour, but it was nice to know it was there.

One tip, sign up and book through the Kimpon website and be a part of their rewards program. You get to choose some of your favorite things (mostly little things). My husband was so happy to get his Wall Steet journal to our door every morning.

The staff was friendly, all smiles, and helpful! Fantastic experience. Thanks Alexis Hotel!!!

Room Tip: Sign up for Kimpton rewards program, you have better chance of an upgrade.

I am so happy to hear your first trip to Seattle will be memorable, especially after that upgrade to our Seattle Art Museum Suite! Too bad you missed out on wine hour… such a fun time mingling with others, plus you get free wine! Hope to see you soon!

My wife and I decided to spend our tenth anniversary in Seattle. After researching local hotels, we chose the Alexis. It was our first Kimpton Hotel, and although we'd read several glowing reviews, we weren't sure how good it was going to be.
Well, it turned out to be FANTASTIC! Every aspect of our stay was amazing, from check-in (they gave us a free upgrade to a large, top-floor room), to check-out. The staff were uber-friendly and helpful, the room and lobby were spotless, and the location was perfect: Pike Place Market, SAM and the waterfront were just a few blocks away.
We had an amazing time over the four days and the next time we're in Seattle we'll definitely return to the Alexis.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors have a lot of natural light.
