“Great Location, Clean Room, Nice and Helpful Staff.”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

We were surprised at the quality of this hotel. The room was a nice size, by our standards, anyway (who wants to hang out in a hotel room when there are so many new places to visit?). The room was clean. There was a desk and closet to hang-up your clothes. An iron and ironing board, and hair dryer were in the room. A fan was also provided since the hotel does not have air conditioning. (There is also a ceiling fan).
We had a room overlooking the courtyard, so it was quiet and we had no trouble falling asleep or sleeping in.

The staff was very cordial and helpful.

We did not have a car with us, so we do not know much about the parking situation. Also, the hotel lends out bikes, helmets and umbrellas for guests, which was a nice touch.

The location is within walking distance to the Space Needle, EMP museum, Monorail, Waterfront, Sculpture Park and Pike Place Market. Though we never walked to the Capitol Hill district (we took a cab), we did walk back (downhill) and it was a fine walk. A long walk, but not bad.

The price was good compared to the competition.

I would stay at this hotel again.

We arrived several hours early and were able to leave our bags at the front desk. One of the desk attendants said, "you must be hungry." and gave us lots of ideas for lunch. We were extremely impressed by the professionalism of the front desk attendants. Loved that they answered our every question. We were able to check out a wine opener and a cloth shopping bag there also. So convenient to the waterfront, Pioneer Square and the space needle area. We walked everywhere. Took the Link Light Rail from the airport which dropped us off just a few short blocks from he Belltown Inn. Very convenient to restaurants and clubs. We spent one Sunday night listening to jazz just a short block away. We ate one evening meal on the rooftop deck which was lovely. Would highly recommend this hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Hated to leave it!!!

Our first trip to Seattle, we arrived on September 14th in the early morning and had a reservation. Upon entering the motel Julie was working the counter. Her attitude was horrible and she was a very rude woman. Things went downhill quickly and we were then kicked out of this establishment by Julie and to the streets. With no where else to go. A man walking past us offered us help and we followed him 3blocks up the street to the hotel 5 and was greeted nicely...the room was very clean and the workers were very nice. Julie also told us that we needed to get our Redneck trash out of her establishment.... Will never do that again.

We were very pleased with this good value hotel and with the friendly professional staff. Room comfortable although a little small, especially the bathroom. Lacked air-conditioning but ceiling fan was effective and quiet so we used it most of the time. Included a kitchenette but next to no pots so not a lot of use. Soft drinks in fridge on arrival a good touch. When we were staying there was a lot of construction work going on the road outside but our room faced the courtyard so very quiet. Free wifi worked in room well as lobby. Rooftop terrace available.

Good places for breakfast - Ralph's on 4th and Macrina Bakery on 1st. Hotel handy for buses which run along 3rd, cost us 75 cents each way to go to Museum of Flight as seniors.

I recently stayed here and had a great experience. Yes, that construction is annoying and the city noise is loud on the 3rd avenue side but overall it was exactly what I needed for a solo trip to see Seattle. I walked everywhere from this hotel (Pike Place Market, the whole Seattle Complex, the waterfront, etc..) You can take a $2.50 bus ride down 3rd Ave or the Seattle Center Monorail for $2.25 to the Westgate Center. From Westgate, there's a light rail for under $3 that will take you to the SeaTac airport. For the price, you couldn't ask for a more convenient location to start each day. I enjoyed some of the local bars (Rabbit Hole, Cyclops) and the neighborhood is hip and funky. One other bonus was using a bike and riding up to Fremont and Gas Works Park. I admit that this is probably geared more for a couple or a solo traveler but I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I agree about the top floors being desirable. The bus noise was extremely loud (I thought it was th...

We stayed here after our cruise. We were able to check in 4 hours early- no questions asked and no raised eyebrows... Which was really cool, considering we would have had to either wait or lug around 4 suitcases. Anyhow, we went to our room, which was street side and yes, you do hear traffic. Didn't bother us, we took an hour nap. The room was clean, comfortable AND we were able to walk to the SPACE NEEDLE in about 10 minutes. From the Space Needle we went the opposite way to PIKE'S MARKET, which if you walk down to the harbor, you run into after about 3-4 blocks. When the Market was closing, we bought Alaskan Crab Legs, Dungeoness Crabs, wine, Cheese, Etc and were able to eat in the room. They had a Kitchenette, and we were able to get dishes and silverware from the front desk... I was able to use the Internet AND Print Boarding Passes FREE of CHARGE... Buses were right outside the front door, and/or they will give you bicycles, helmets, chain & lock to use for free. It's in a great Eating & Drinking neighborhood. You can find negative in any thing you want, but this place is a clean, comfortable, convenient and centrally located establishment. Worked For Us !!!!! AND, THEY HAVE A GREAT ROOFTOP LOUNGE AREA !!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for something courtyard side.. 4th or 5th floor for easy rooftop access( smokers take note)

I wish I could rate this hotel higher. The staff was terrific, and the hotel was in general very nice. Here comes the BUT - no air conditioning on a very warm night made the stay uncomfortable. We had no choice but to leave the window open all night, and that let in the very loud street noise. The traffic never stopped, and the nightlife on the street was filled with some very rough language and altercations - what was strange was that by day, this was a very calm very business-like street! (except for the current noisy construction happening on the lot next door) Back to the staff...they were some of the best I've encountered. Anything we asked for was taken care of immediately. They get an A+!
