OK, so this is my neighborhood bar/restaurant and I've come here a LOT. About time I reviewed good old Fiddles. So, come here for the very cozy, rustic, genuine feel, and for the good beer selection. The staff is kind of a hoot, because you just have collective service by the 2-4 waitresses who do loops aropund the place. It's OK, because there is always one coming by, unless they are hanging out at the bar chatting, which does happen regularly. But they are lovable and friendly all the time and it's OK. Just don't be in a huge hurry here. The menu is fairly interesting for bar food, and they make some pretty good pizzas. But the food is not cheap nor is the wine, at least in relative to the roadhouse atmosphere that this place is about. It's about $13 for the smaller pizza that MAYBE can be shared, but probably not between two hungry people. Good hot sandwiches and pretty big salads. Sometimes the cook has a bad day and the pizza is like Dominoes, but I'd say that's only 10% of the time. I like that the place has a lot of regular faces, and the wait staff has been there a long time, and it just seems like a place where everybody knows your name. But don't drive all the way across town to experience it.......

A nice neighborhood watering hole with good beer and decent food. It's a pub, so don't expect elegant cuisine. Also, it can be a bit noisy, as the walls are mostly windows and the ceiling is a hard surface. You'll have to speak up to be heard by your tablemates. As long as you're OK with a pub atmosphere and pretty good bar food, this is a great place for casual dining.

My friend and I split a yummy sandwich and had small cups of soup. Add a pint of lager on tap and it was a great way to start the day.

I have just spent the last 4 hours at Fiddlers, a small Brew pub on 35th St North of the University District. Went there in conjunction with a meeting I am attending, with a group of about 20 long time friends and colleagues. Fiddler's is small partly because it is in an historic building, which by law cannot be substantial expanded or improved...So the kitchen is absolutely tiny, big enough for two grown men to jockey with each other over access to the couple of burners and the few oven shelves as they do their best to push out paninis and club sandwiches, salads and super nacho platters as well as a constant stream of pizzas. The down side of all of this is that service is slow...to the point where sometimes you think maybe they forgot your order. Also they only offer one soup each day...On the upside, the servers are good at what they do, the food, when it does arrive is fresh and appetizing and more than adequate. The beer and ale offerings are outstanding...and best of all, they have a large outdoor garden fitted with long, umbrellaed tables that offer an ideal setting for such a gathering in Seattle on a sunshiny day and evening with the temperatures in the 70's and the humidity in the 25% range
