I travelled to seattle from london with my fiance. We love the states!

Anyway, whilst in seattle, a very french feeling city, we visited Pike Place Market. I am not a person that enjoys walking for ages, but i found this place so remakable. The atmosphere was buzzing, especially at the fish stand.

From the First ever starbucks coffe shop to the view of the mountains and sea, Seattle is an absolute must.

Pike place market simply has to be visited, even for 30 minutes, you wont want to leave.

You really must stand by the fish stand, well not to spoil it, you will know the one when you see it.

I enjoyed Pike Place Market. Sure....it was a tourist attraction but Wow! The colors, smells, and diversity of the food was a great experience. It's one of those places you can choose to spend all day or just a few hours

This is a 'must do' in Seattle, and we went there several times during our 2 weeks stay here. Tip: Try and go during the weekdays, and the weekends are just too busy and less enjoyable.

There is such a buzz and vibrancy about the place, and a great variety of food and other items. Yes, you pay up to 100% premium on the meals etc. that you buy here, but we always found the quality to be very high and we kept coming back for more. With a couple of minor exceptions, we found all the stall holders to be very friendly and helpful.

Don't expect the markets to be cheap like other 'farmers markets' out there. The only thing we found to be a bargain here were the beautiful, fresh flowers.

Allocate at least a day at the markets. There is a nice park near the waterfront which we found handy to take the odd break away from the maddening crowd before going back in again.

Great plae to visit when in Seattle.

Definitely buy some fresh flowers! They are so beautifully constructed and wrapped and at a really good price!

I loved everything about it. Wish we had one in Atlanta. Everything looked so fresh.

The fish market is there too..pretty famous where they throw fish around. THey'll throw you a fish if you buy one!

If you don't go to the Pike Place Market, you have not seen Seattle. You do not have to be a foodie to appreciate the market. Virtually any type of food you can think of and more is there. There are also some vendors not selling food. In addition, there are numerous restaurants. I particularly enjoyed Pike Place Fish (I bought salmon to bring home for myself and a family friend), Chukar Cherries, Piroshky-Piroshky (A piroshky is a Russian pastry) and Pike Place Chowder (once you taste their chowder you will know why it is award winning).

Be sure to get the market early morning as it gets extremely crowded. I strongly advise taking a tour of the market with Savor Seattle Food Tours.
