Exquisite art and frequently changing exhibits. Fascinating displays for all tastes. Speaking of tastes, the museum restaurant is very good.

You can pay as little as a penny to go here. We paid $10 each because we thought that was fair. An eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional art. My personal preference was for the modern art but there’s something for everyone. Very peaceful, light open airy space

We loved our visit to this excellent gallery. We were pleased to find it open on a Monday, we arrived around 10.30 and there were no crowds even for the really well curated Pre-Raphaelite exhibition. The gallery is spacious and grand and there is a modest cafe with very good soup. The more permanent paintings are full of interest as are the occasional informative videos.

We had some time on our hands, and had never been to this museum. We have seen several art museums across the U.S. and welcomed seeing another one. To my untrained eye, this one fell short in both quantity and quality. Vast open spaces with little or nothing of interest. Most museums reach out and grab you, this one never seemed to get a hold. Not sure what the European section held as it was unavailable due to an upcoming exhibit.

Thanks for visiting SAM and sharing your thoughts with us. We welcome feedback, it helps inform what we do! Sorry some of our galleries were closed during your visit—this is sometimes necessary to install new art in the museum. We hope you’ll come back one day and see what you missed!

The collections here are amazing. They have wonderful pieces from major artists and important movements as well as the historical northwest indigenous art. The seasonal exhibit was one of the best I have seen.
