Our second visit to this delightful Kimpton property surpassed our first (very good) visit for several reasons: although our room was not ready when we arrived at 5:00pm, a very helpful desk clerk expedited our check-in into a room on an upper floor, which we requested because of the traffic noise we experienced on a lower floor during our earlier visit.
We had a disappointing dinner at Tulio in June, but this time a lovely Sunday morning breakfast hit the spot: the food was well prepared, service was exemplary, the atmosphere was calm and inviting, and the price far less than a typical hotel breakfast.
As others have noted, this property is cozy: a nice quality for short, dark December days. The only
drawback for us is the very small lobby, which makes for a very crowded wine hour: no space to sit or even to stand, but we were told we could take our glass of wine to our room, which was much appreciated.
The staff here are all incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms could use some updating, but the beds are extremely comfortable and we feel very much at home here, unlike our stays at some of the larger chains. The location can't be beat: across the street from the amazing Seattle public library, easy walking distance to the Art Museum, Benaroyal Hall, the monorail, and many great restaurants: can't wait to return!More
