I wanted to be near the space needle, the Museum of Pop Culture and monorail for my son, granddaughter and me on our trip to Seattle, so chose the Travelodge by Wyndham because Wyndham has a good hotel reputation, but this place was very inadequate. The room was tiny for 3, the furniture was all scuffed up, the vinyl on a desk chair seat and an easy chair arms was torn, the carpet was badly stained, and the window curtain was torn. Also, the bathroom sink never emitted hot water and came out in a trickle on cold water. The workout room was unbearably hot during the day because the very large windows had no shade and the sun baked the room. The staff was pleasant and kept our bags because we got to the hotel before our room was cleaned and kept them after we checked out so we could explore more of the city before our night time train back to Portland. I imagine that Wyndham bought the TravelLodge chain and hadn't gotten around to upgrading these hotels, but they are sullying their reputation in my mind. One plus was that the room was quiet. We didn't hear anything going on in adjacent rooms.
