“Westin - what a view!”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

Had a great stay at the Westin in Seattle. Great people, great service, great view! You can walk to Pike Place Market from the hotel, but find out how to get to the pier before going off on your own. It is easy to do once you have directions.

Room Tip: Go for the north tower facing the Space Needle!

What a great location! We opted for an water view room, and loved it!
Easy to walk to lots of close by attractions (monorail, pike place, waterfront). If you like the Westin, you will enjoy this hotel!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for conference in April. Overall it was a satisfactory stay. However there were a few issues worth mentioning that should be addressed:

1. Beware of the valet services steering you to a private car for city travel. That service is nothing short of a pure rip off. When we had complained at the registration desk we were simply met with shrugs and a suggestion to talk to the valet manager. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE unless you want to pay 3 or 4 times more than any regular cab ride.

2. I reported excessive noise from the adjoining room late at night. the registration desk said that security would address it but no one ever came.

3. Housekeeping forgot to clean our room up one day. After calling to registration several times without response we went downstairs to complain and finally were able to get someone from housekeeping to straighten up the room.

4. Concierge services are spotty. An Asian gentleman there is okay but the 2 women who also work there are a joke. One sent us to her favorite coffee shop "just a few blocks away." In fact it was more than a mile walk in a heavily trafficked industrial area out of the downtown neighborhood and most difficult to find. We later discovered there are plenty of good independent coffee shops right downtown. She also steered us to an Italian restaurant that did not get good online reviews. We happened upon Assaggio on our own which was a few blocks away and excellent.

5. The hotel breakfast buffet was quite good but somewhat pricey as you might expect eating at the hotel. The heavenly bed was awesome. Nothing can compare for an enjoyable rest.

If you have the time I recommend the wine tour which can be arranged at the concierge desk or online yourself.

The above minor glitches would not deter me from coming back to this hotel.

Stayed at the Weston room 3630 and was treated to the best views of the city. We could see the water and the space needle. The Deluxe King was impeccible and just simply huge. Housekeeping kept the room clean and well stocked. Once you got out of the hotel, it is an 8 minute walk to the water, and the public market. Can't beat that. I would defeinately stay there again!

Comfortable Hotel within walking distance to most downtown sites and attractions. The rooms were clean, the food at the hotel was decent and the service staff was very helpful. The gym was alright, but good enough for simple workout.

Room Tip: The higher floors offer better views and cost only a small amount more.

It's not the nicest Westin we've stayd at, but it is still a nice hotel. Staff are friendly and professional, rooms are average to good. They have Tazo tea in the rooms, which is a huge plus. Our view from the room was very nice. The hotel is missing a certain something that other Westins have. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you found our staff to be friendly and professional. We work hard to provide the highest quality in service and facilities. It is disappointing to learn you rated our newly renovated rooms as average and missing something you identify with Westin. We hope you will give us another opportunity to be of service on your next trip to Seattle so we may regain your confidence. Thank you again.

I loved my room at the Westin Seattle. I stayed in room 4230 (42nd floor ). I felt like I was floating over the entire City. We had a perfect view of the Space Needle, the Water Front and the Cascade mountains. Never wanted to leave my view.

The elevators getting to the room were a bit slow but it was worth the climb.

The location is ideal. You can walk to all the major attractions like The Public Market, Pikes Place and most stores/shops. The monorail station is right across the street.

The gym is really nice. They have a decent amount of elliptical trainers which are always lacking at many hotels.

Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the view of the Space Needle, Puget Sound and mountains from your room on the 42nd floor. It is a beautiful view, especially on a clear and sunny day. Our close proximity to Seattle attractions, shopping and restaurants make us a great choice for visitors. Thank you again and we hope to be of service on your next trip to Seattle.
