“Amazing Views”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

WE enjoyed our stay at the Edgewater. I think they were kind and smart to move us to a waterfront room since they were open. If I was paying $250 for the parking lot side midweek I would NOT have been impressed. The check staff was helpful and friendly. Our room I must say was a bit worn and dated. The views although could NOT be beat...and the views from the bar amazing! My husband did use the stairs when he went for his AM jog and said they were awful! Full of trash...needs some TLC but the view...amazing!

Room Tip: Bew on the waterfront!

The perfect place for a Seattle trip especially for a special occassion. We celebrated my wife's birthday and stayed at the Edgewater with our 6 year old son. The staff helped with so many memorable experiences: 2 free cocktails in the gorgeous lounge overlooking Puget Sound, sending chocolate covered strawberries and cider to the room, making sure we had a full water view and deliverying the presents I had hidden to the room. They even recommended a fantastic nearby bakery (Macrina) for an unforgettable birthday cake. One of the nicest parts of the stay was simply taking in the view of Puget Sound next to the fireplace in our room after walking around all day in the rain. Heaven. The rooms are a little small but the beds are Four Seasons' - level comfortable. Every member of the statf was friendly, helpful and efficient. The location was great, an easy walk to the Space Needle, Pikes Place Market and loads of good restaurants.

Room Tip: For a full view of the Sound get rooms at _50 or above.

Great location, amazing breakfast. Rooms are small but the bathroom are gorgeous, yet a bit dark. The main level is like a super cozy lodge. The bar is fun, great drinks/entertainment. The one disappointment was the dinner at the main restaurant was over priced & frankly disappointing, not what I expected after having such wonderful experience with breakfast/brunch. It's a great hotel a little expensive but a nice treat.

We wanted a waterfront room and ours was fabulous, harbour seals swimming around, noisy seagulls, view of Mount Rainier in the distance, ferries crossing the sound, only wish that a cruise ship had docked while we were there. The room had a fireplace with two leather chairs and a cute dog footstool. You could open a couple of doors to the bathroom and have a sea view while you relaxed in the bath. We drank in the bar one night, it always seemed busy but service was very good and we had breakfast on our last morning, which was very good. I don't think that I would want to stay here without a seaview room.

We stayed one night for a wedding. We went to breakfast in the restaurant. The food was bad.The service was worse. We waited 40 minutes to be served. We had to beg for our check. When we returned to our room , we found our clothes had been moved and were dirty. We complained and were met with an attitide that basically said , "Yeah, that was bad, but you have to take it up with the houskeepers and the restaurant people .Housekeeping and food are not my departmentd." I saw better attitudes and food in the Army messhall when the cooks were draftees. In fact this place reminded me of the barracks of 50 years ago with fancy plumbing fixtures.Except the bartacks were free.

Thanks for being our guest and for taking the time to reach out with your review. While it was a pleasure to have had you as our guest, we're dismayed by the atypical level of services you received while in our company. This is clearly beyond the norm of our traditional attentiveness, and we encourage you to reach out to our management team with your concerns. We would love the opportunity to showcase the world class services for which we're more commonly regarded, and we hope to hear from and see more of you soon. Many thanks again for your time and feedback.

I stayed for 3 nights on a business trip and loved this hotel.
The atmosphere is great (lively bar at night), the room unique (check out the bathtub, the fireplace and the cuddly-bear ottoman) and the gift shop cute (so many things you don’t know exist but wish you’d own). Having a cruise ship parked just across from my window was pretty cool (in my opinion).
The valet parking is way overpriced.

Room Tip: If you like the sound of seagulls, ask for a room on the water

We stayed here in August during a long weekend away to Seattle. The hotel was over priced for what you get. We got a good deal on Priceline or probably would have been real disappointed for the price Edgewater was asking. This is probably our fifth hotel in downtown and probably least favorite. .....but not bad just for the money you would expect four-plus star quality. It's a three and a half. Even though the hotel has been renovated, it still feels warn and outdated. The Edgewater is further down the waterfront from most downtown attractions, but is closer to Space Needle. Not much else stands out. I'd pay $200 a night, no more.

Room Tip: Park across the street in the garage.
