We got a room through priceline.com ($100 a night instead of the posted $229 a night through the hotel). If you go through priceline you get a city view (our room looked directly at the Seattle Space Needle) but the other side of the hotel had beautiful water views. Every room has a fireplace for nice ambiance. We had a queen bed room which was a little small even for just two of us but it was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable, and it had a gorgeous bathroom with a slate shower and open glass door design. The restaurant had a great view but it was pretty pricey - we paid $8 for one slice of cheesecake but it was very delicious. There was a little train noise through the night being on the city side of the hotel but it wasn't too interuptive. They lend out bikes to guests so we were able to borrow the bikes to ride up and down the water front and visit the Pike Market - all of this was in a great walking location but the bikes were handy. They also offer shuttles to the space needle, pike market, pioneer square, and all the great tourist attractions close by.

Room Tip: If you go through the hotel ask for the water view but if not the fourth floor was a great floor for...

Just arrived home from Edgewater. Many comments are as noted. Rooms are small but nicely appointed. Loved the fireplace to take the chill off. We stayed city side and YES there were trains all day and night. They never blew a whistle but you could hear the dinging of the guardrails. This did not bother us as much as a loud crowd yelling outside our last night. Rose and Hilda were our housekeepers and they attended to our every request. We did look at a waterview but decided it was not worth the extra $$$ as you could sit in the bar or lobby and have the same view. PARKING.........OMG wow OK so we knew it was $36 plus tax a night and only Valet parking is offerred. When I paid my bill, parking came out to be just under $44 night. There was a parking garage across the street for $22 and parking on the street is free from 8p-8a. Look around this was a big big suprise and I am glad we moved our after 2 nights. The Valet guys were great and offered a shuttle until 9 pm but it departs hourly on the hour. We just could not seem to make the hours! We were in the bar / restaurant nightly. If you go ask for Judy. She is fabulous and makes sure everything is up to speed! Beside the parking...... the hotel was remodeling and laying new carpet. A bit of inconvenience and workers left glue, unlaid carpet, and etc. on the floor just outside the elevator. It would have been nice if the hotel would have said we are remodeling and as a compensation for the inconvenience offer a better room or coupons for the bar or dinner. Then we would not have felt imposed upon so much. Overall the hotel was clean and has a nice NW atmosphere. The staff was courteous and friendly. There is a Starbucks in the giftshop and they offered free refills on coffee. The coffee in the room is aweful! The refrigerator in the room was well stocked but we emptied and placed our own leftovers and drinks inside. We did not know they had a pool until I just read other reviews. I would recommend this place. We did priceline and received a very good rate $80

Room Tip: Water side is quieter if you are a light sleeper.

We thank you very much for taking the time to post a review. And while the trains seem to be a hot topic about this hotel, we are grateful when someone does post comments that they really are NOT a distraction to your experience. Thank you!
As noted in previous reviews, all downtown hotels charge for parking and we are on the lower end of the spectrum. The option of self parking across the street does work but they do not allow in and out privileges so that should be kept in mind when seeking alternatives to our Valet services.
Finally.................pool? We do not have a pool. Just the fabulous Elliott Bay to gaze at!

Thank You.

Found a good rate and were happy with the location. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the PP Market, but an easy walk. Our floor was being re-done, and it was nice to see the upgrades. The train didn't bother us with the windows closed. The fireplace sure heats up the room quickly, which was nice on a rainy night. Concierge folks had ideas for things to do and restaurants. Valet was always quick and friendly. Check in and check out were simple. Everybody on staff was friendly. We were so busy the kids were too tired to check out the pool! That will have to be our next visit.

Room Tip: We were facing the train, but it wasn't too noisy...we always bring our own earplugs but the kid...

We are so pleased to see that you enjoyed The Edgewater and will come again! Can’t wait for your return.

Not sure why the last two reviews commented about a pool. We do not have a pool at the Edgewater! Just the beautiful Elliott Bay!

Many thanks.

Nice place, good food, the lobby and public spaces are well-kept. BUT: NO HEAT. The room had a gas fireplace controlled by the room thermostat. A fan blew cold air right across the bed, which was a misery, while the gas logs toasted my luggage. If the hotel had heat and air, I'd go back but for the price it was one of the crappiest rooms I've stayed in.

Room Tip: Avoid this place!

We booked into a 'city view' room and we couldn't sleep at all. There is a train right beside the hotel that goes screaching by every hour. When we asked to change rooms, they said it would be $128 per night extra to move. Then, they sent up ear plugs. The staff seemed very accustomed to hearing these complaints. It was such an unfortunate experience for us. The room was tiny and the bathroom was even smaller. The air conditioning didn't work and there was a musty smell everywhere. The restaurant is nice, but we couldn't stay there all night. Eventually we had to go back to our horrible room and try and sleep with ear plugs in. It's the worst hotel experience my husband and I have ever had. We will not even stay at this place again.

Room Tip: Start with staying at another hotel. But if you're forced to stay at the Edgewater, never ever...

Thank you for your comments and sorry to learn that the trains bothered you. They are very much part of the wonderful experience of Seattle's waterfront and very important part at that.
The Edgewater is not for everybody and we wish you the best in other accommodations that may suit your needs better.
Best Regards.

We only had an overnight opportunity to commemorate our 40th w/Easter, Sunday, our anniversary, and our son's 21st birthday Friday, but the quality of our repose was extraordinary. Don't know for sure who upgraded us from a simple waterside room w/full view to the 4th floor suite, but we were totally spoiled w/the accomodations and enjoyed the jacuzzi, the dining room/adjacent sitting room, and the open deck. The seagulls entertained us, catching some left overs in mid-air as they circled overhead. Mount Ranier and the snow-covered Olympics were grand this morning. The various colored lights of the city, especially the commerce area, the docks, were so beautiful last evening. I am totally refreshed with such comfortable sleeping facilities. My husband almost filled his photo card again w/all the photo opts. We had a truly memorable experience!

Wow! my daughter and I are divas on a dime. This was the best Priceline experience ever! We had a city room with a balcony and even though they could not accommodate our two bed request managed to get us a king size bed. We decided not to upgrade for $50 a night to a waterfront room as the lobby and restaurant had great views of the water. The Train Crossing Signal is directly infront of the hotel. I asked how often it would go off and was told all night. The hotel provided ear plugs. The internet was offered to us at $24.95 for our 3 day stay for lobby or room use; but when we declined we were told we could use the business centre on the second floor. We arrived Friday morning and the hotel let us check our luggage until our room was ready. We ended up on a ferry to Bainbridge Island. What a great Island with lots of wine tasting, a spa, artist, shops and a fabulous lunch at Docks. All only 35 minutes away from the Edgewater. If you want to go to Victoria - the clipper is right next to the hotel. We walked along the waterfront on a fairly new walkway _ I believe it was called SAM with olympic sculptures. Another day we walked to pike place market while passing the waterfront aquarium - we did stop to take a ride on the carousel.
Another day we went to the EMP musuem to see the Nirvana exhibit. We purchased a yearly membership as we go to Seattle often. After reading reviews on the Edgewater - I was a little hesitant to stay there. My daughter got her hair cut at gene juarez and I had a quick foot polish change. We just love gene juarez - again we were able to walk to this downtown spa as Seattle on foot is great. The hotel shuttle was only once an hour and therefore we walked.

Lunch today at the hotel restaurant was amazing - their lunch bento boxincludes choic of soup, salad and a half sandwich. Server was great! Sarah. Also, Derreck at the restaurant showed us around the restaurant when we arrived and was very professional and helpful.

George from the front desk came up immediately to show us how to use the shower and didnt make us feel foolish for not figuring it out.

We saw the parking price - so just took the QuickShuttle from Canada. Great Value on a commuter fare. Two hours without border crossing time.

A great trip in Seattle. Wish the fluffy bear ottoman had actually been in the room as it is mentioned in every room type on the Edgewater website. You could buy one in the hotel giftstore but were $450.00.

Overall this hotel is exceptional and by Canadian Standards would rate a 5 star! Just an awesome experience at a great hotel as other name brand hotels tend to not like people booking through third party. The front desk staff only mentioned the fact once regarding not being able to specify room type.

We definitely want to go back to the Edgewater!

Room Tip: Any room is a great room here! However, the train not only goes by on the city side but has a crossi...

And we are very proud of our Six Seven restaurant. We take great pride in that it is NOT your typical hotel restaurant at all and actually a local’s favorite.
Thank you for giving our staff the high marks as you did. They are a great group of people that love what they do.
Thanks for your posting and hope you can return soon.
