I came here for a 3 day business trip. The hotel and staff are warm and comfortable, the rooms are very spacious, the location is perfect for shopping and restaurants. I really felt at home. I'll definately stay here again.

Andra is a very nice mix of warmth, hint-of-Frank-Lloyd-Wright chic-ness, and urban style. The fireplace in the small yet comfortable lobby sets tone, with the energetic sound of conversations from the lobby-adjacent Lola, the award-winning restaurant by Tom Douglas, adding to the vibe.

The staff: first rate professional, knowledgeable and very pleasant.

The room: clean, modern with a hint of retro/Frank Lloyd Wright-ness. We were on the 4th Avenue side on the 4th floor and there was a bit of traffic noise, but not unruly.

The location: comfortable 10-minute walk to the waterfront, Pike Place market and other downtown destinations.

Several great restaurants in the vicinity:

Lola, attached to lobby of Andra. Fun, somewhat eclectic menu with great breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Try the mini-doughnuts as an addition to your breakfast!

Serious Pie: half-block South on Virgina. Fabulous pizza, quaint dining area with great energy. Expect a bit of a wait (but enjoy a glass of wine while you do)

Dahlia Lounge: directly across the street from Andra. Fun lounge, great atmosphere. Get the coconut cream pie for dessert!

We spent a night in Hotel Andra and found the service to be excellent and the room very comfortable. The room was spacious and well furnished, and the location very convenient in downtown Seattle. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. The value was very good considering the overall quality of the the accommodations and service for the price we paid. IT was a nice break from the more generic hotels out there, and comparably priced.

The staff here are terrific, from the valet attendants to the front desk personnel, as is the location. If you love food you're in the right place, with Lola and Dahlia Lounge only steps from your room. The rooms are nice, but unfortunately we were given the room directly across from the elevator and next to the ice machine, even though we made our reservations 6 months in advance! Between that noise and the traffic noise under our window, we didn't sleep as well as we would have liked. Also, we reserved the in-room massages for two and the rooms are just not large enough to accommodate two massage tables. It was necessary to drag beds and the tea cart around and the massage therapists were still barely able to maneuver around the tables. Our relatives who stayed in another room ended up getting their massages in the conference room--how awkward! Considering the price of the massages we would have been way ahead of the game to go to a spa down the street--it would have been cheaper, more comfortable, and we could have gotten facials too for that amount of money! I don't hesitate to recommend the hotel, but if I stay here again I will most definitely skip the massages and request a better room location, especially with that much advance notice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back side of the hotel and away from the elevators.

Unimpressed that we arrived in the pouring rain and no-one helped us with our bags; we checked in and went out. Returning to the hotel shortly after 11pm, we went to the restaurant and were told we could not have any food. We were directed to another restaurant; we tried and failed to find it. We came back to the hotel and were given slightly different instructions - we found it, but it was a greasy diner. We went back to the hotel, and were greeted by a 'tough luck' attitude at reception; 'eye rolling' at a request to be fed is not what i expect. Having been sent on a wild goose chase, it had passed the 1130 curfew on room service and there is no hotel restaurant food, this is not what I expect from a hotel that purports to be a chic boutique hotel - and charges for it. I post this as a live complaint (room 503) - I'm guessing that it will mater not a jot. I am not a happy guest - let's see if they care...
