We wanted to spend one night downtown Seattle to go to Pikes market and the Museums and Space needle. We arrived and pulled into the front area, valet was waiting when expressed we didn't want a valet we were told we would have to park in public parking, we only had one bag so my tired husband set off to find a lot, they were not cheap, So he returned to the front of the hotel,to have the car valet parked and was ignored so headed out once again to just get parked. There was on site parking as stated on the web site but it had a sign stating valet parking only, did I mention it was raining. he got lost coming out of the parking garage, about 1/2 hour later he was back, he had parked in the Hyatt garage 2 blocks away, why didn't we stay there? Other then that glowing first impression the hotel was grand, but that just ruined it for us.

I wanted to find a downtown hotel in Seattle for our pre cruise stay, I researched and found out how expensive hotels in Seattle were. So I went to Priceline and received a stay for $95/nt for three nights. I was very pleased with this hotel. We were in the new tower and it was lovely. Right outside the hotel was the Grayline double decker tour bus that you can take to all the sights. We walked to Pike Place market one morning and had breakfast at Lowells, walked around the stalls, and visited the waterfront.

The Sheraton was in a fantastic location. A Walgreens was just a few blocks away and we stopped for a few items we had forgot to pack. The Cheesecake Factory was right behind the hotel, and delicious. Shopping was all around you. I would definately stay here again when in Seattle. No complaints whatsoever!

Stayed here for a 3 night stay. On a transfer from Minneapolis to a different airline, Northwest screwed up and kept my bag in their system. I arrived late in the evening and checked in without a problem. The next morning at 8:00 (still no luggage) I went to the concierge desk and asked about local dept stores. The concierge noted they all opened at 9:30 or 10 but she knew someone at the Nordstrom down the street and would see what she could do. Someone at Nordstrom literally met on the sidewalk and took me up to the mens department. I was able to buy some clothes for the day and was on time for my conference. This is what service is supposed to be.

Hotel was very clean, nice flat screens in the room and even some local HD channels. The clothes iron was new, clean and actually worked properly (a big gripe of mine in most hotels). Staff was very friendly and they have those cool "Surface" tables in the lobby. My only complaint is the $21 cost for the breakfast buffet and $10/day for the internet (although it was free in the lobby). Overall, a great experience.

We stayed at the Sheraton for four nights recently and were thoroughly impressed with the hotel. As mentioned in previous reviews, the location is excellent with many sights within walking distance. Pike Place Market is six blocks away, and Pioneer Square is probably a twenty-minute walk. A couple of shopping malls are within a five minute walk. The Metro station is about a block away and very convenient and easy to use. As Starwood members, we had a room on the 25th floor of the Union Tower. The hotel chain designates certain floors (higher floors) for its members. Our room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The recently updated room has a modern décor. There is an excellent complimentary exercise room on the 35th floor of the Pike Tower, just in case you haven’t expended enough energy walking around the city. There are five computers in the lobby for hotel guests to use. All you have to do is enter your surname and room number to log in. We had a couple of problems with our hotel room, which were handled quickly and professionally. Despite the large size of the hotel, it didn’t feel crowded and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return to this hotel for another stay.

Some tips about Seattle-Beecher’s is found across from Pike Place Market on 1st Street and offers store made cheese and excellent pasta. Pike Place Chowder offers has excellent seafood chowder for a reasonable price. Another fifteen minute walk takes you to the waterfront and the piers. Ivars is legendary for its seafood. Great afternoon lunch of fish and chips amongst the scrap seeking seagulls! Mexico, a restaurant in Pacific Place Mall, is reasonably priced with delicious food. There is a section that is less formal where tapas may be ordered instead. The Underground is a great tour in Pioneer Square. Pioneer Square is a trendy, artistic area with smaller unique stores well worth spending a couple of hours. We went to see a Mariners game. The stadium is within walking distance (30 minutes), or you can easily take the underground bus.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend trip to explore downtown Seattle and see the sights. We got a good deal for the location and could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Pike's Market is just a few blocks away, with so many vendors and things to see! If you want to see the Space Needle, just head to the monorail drop-off point two blocks away and save your feet. All of the staff we met at the Sheraton were helpful and friendly, from the lobby to the Club Floor. We walked into that lobby at eleven p.m and the desk clerk was smiling and ready to be of service. The hostess on the Club Floor always had a "Good Morning" ready no matter how early or late we wandered in for breakfast. They were very accomodating and knowledgeable. When my husband accidentally left behind his wedding ring (!) in our room on the day we checked out, they were able to find it and mail it to our home address. It just arrived, safe and sound. That's what I call customer service!

Valet Parking is close to $30. The lobby is very nice and the Concierge Desk is helpful and the computer/printer provided to check in and print your boarding pass for your flight is a nice touch.

The room is comfortable and comes with a bottle of complimentary water, one robe (don't ask me why just one), an in-room safe, a mini-bar (get the key from the front desk), and snacks that isn't so tempting once you look at the prices (a 75 cents bag of chips is listed as costing nearly $5!).

A liquor/convenient store is two block up, the Cheesecake Factory a block away (the "homeless teens" and their dog are not really suffering, so says the Cheescake Factory manager, who said he's seen them using laptop computers and cell phones while holding up their sign), and a bar/restraunt is right across the street from the hotel in NikeTown. I preferred the Cheescake Factory. Be careful if you go out at night, as downtown Seattle seems to have their share of vagrants.

The Pike is a short 5 blocks away--walking is the best mode of transportation taking less than 10 minutes, more if you stop in the little shops on the way down. The guys throwing the fish are funny, but I wouldn't want them to throw my food around. There are many stalls selling all sorts of things, including hot little donuts, but I wouldn't recommend lard and sugar even if they smelled delicious. For a late lunch, we tried one of the restraunts at the Pike, but it wasn't worth it.
