Quality Inn & Suites Seattle
Ranked #82 of 104 Hotels in Seattle
Reviewed June 3, 2013

This hotel is in walking distance to the Space Needle attraction. Also, there's various eating places (e.g. Subway, pho', McDonald's, various restaurants) within walking distance. There's a Walgreen about a block away. The hotels serves a decent complimentary breakfast (e.g. scrambled egg, boiled egg, sausage, biscuit and gravy (depends on the day), blueberry or plain waffles, cereal, pastries, apple juice, orange juice, milk, coffee, etc.). The hotel is in close proximity to Seattle's public transportation line (Rapid Transit).

There's a fireplace in the lobby, and a table w/24-hour coffee, water, and hot water w/tea bags. There are also 2 desks w/2 computers + printer for guests to use. The computers have free internet. We were able to conveniently check-in w/the airlines and print our tickets. Our rooms had free wi-fi for our cell phones. Next to the lobby, there's a pool and hot tub that's clean.
There are washer and dryers onsite.

We stayed one night at this hotel before and after our cruise out of Pier 91. Our assigned room before the cruise was very rundown (e.g. dirty walls, old); however, our assigned room after the cruise was very nice (e.g. clean, updated).

The hotel has onsite transportation services available; however, it's not something I'd depend on. In the beginning of the year when I initially booked the hotel reservation, the website said "free transportation w/in a mile proximity depending on the availability." Closer to our visit, I went back on the hotel's website, and noticed the "free transportation..." to be missing. I called the hotel, and was told that during the "cruise season" the hotel has transportation for a fee (depends on where you'd like to go). I prepaid the hotel reservation, so it was to late to cancel.

We ended up using the transportation to get dropped of in Chinatown. We asked, "How much for the drop off?" and the driver said, "Any much--" As soon as we got dropped off, all the driver seemed to care about was how much we gave him ($20). When being dropped off, we asked about a pick up--the driver said to call the front desk, and see what was available because he was very busy because he had other pickups at the airport, etc. We asked him (at least 3 times) what time it gets dark, but the driver acted like he didn't speak English. We ended up having to be picked up by another means of transportation.

Despite our experience w/the hotel's driver, the front desk staff and other staff were very professional and helpful.

This is not a 5-star hotel...but I'd definitely stay here again because of the location and amenities.

I wasn't too sure about this hotel after reading the reviews, but we were very pleased with it. You can't beat the location. The hotel is pretty standard - nice rooms, nice beds, good breakfast, excellent service. It's an easy walk to the Space Needle and the numerous attractions that surround it. There's a monorail at the Space Needle that takes you downtown at a cheap price. Plus, the hotel has a shuttle. It takes you to sight-seeing attractions for free (tip the driver). We walked to the Space Needle and did all of those attractions on the first day. On the second day, we took the hotel shuttle to the Underground Tour, walked from there to Pikes Market, walked from there to the downtown monorail station, walked back to the hotel. Easy walks - I'm 68 and not in the best shape, and it was no problem for me. They also have an airport shuttle or will make arrangements for you to use Shuttle Express. If you're taking a cruise, they will give you a free ride to and from the pier. The hotel has a nice indoor pool and hot tub. Nice lobby. Unless you insist on luxury, you'll be pleased with this hotel.

Room Tip: We ended up with a room for handicapped - not sure how, but it was OK. The view was another hotel a...

The part of town is not great, but it's ok. I have stayed in worse, but not for $190 a night. The cost was because it was a jacuzzi room, but the wall tile surrounding the bath was filmy and hadn't been cleaned, so I wasn't about to use it. Best thing the hotel has going for it is great proximity to the space needle and the beds are good. It's very close to a highway, so it's noisy.

The shuttle from the airport is $40 and it's not always available. So if you are counting on it, you may want to call ahead. A cab was about the same price. If you are trying to save a few bucks, take the light rail downtown for $5, then catch a cab or walk from there. I won't stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side of the hotel farthest away from the highway.

Our room was newly renovated and was beautiful. We took the option of having the hot tub in the room..and were surprised it was a suite. An incredible value for what we paid. Short walk to the sky needle. Staff were very helpful. Pool is very nice. With out question would stay here again if back in Seattle

Centrally located to all attractions but facilities tired and old despite modern veneer. Still needs work to justify its market positioning and nightly rate.

Some peeling paint, rug cuts and squeaky floors and small room size hard to ignore. Staff efficient and friendly and helpful but it is hard to turn a pig's ear into a silk purse. Choice hotels group seems to make this a general practice - rehabbing old failing hotels rather than building new.

Great central location near space needle, within easy walking distance of downtown Seattle. Rooms are very clean, a little cramped though not too bad, with fridge, microwave and coffee/tea-making facilities and room safe. Breakfast is adequate. Couldn't face the hot food on the third morning. It's a tad processed, greasy and unappetising. The cereal, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. were all fine, though. You can't fault the staff. They were all very pleasant, helpful, cheerful and accommodating. If you're looking for somewhere to eat locally, Sports Bar is okay (follow John Street when leaving the hotel) but nearby Bambinos Pizzeria and Craft Beers was a great find. Found Seattle downtown a bit seedy for walking around at night, but the area where the hotel is located was much more pleasant and felt perfectly safe. Rooms could do with sound proofing and need warmer blankets. Heating too noisy to use at night. All in all, great location, good value, adequate accommodation.

The staff were friendly but the hotel is old and tired. The elevator was out of service one night, the other elevator took forever (slow is an understatement), the pool was questionable (floaters), the breakfast was basic and not very high quality, the doors slam shut up and down the halls and every footstep is heard. The air conditioner was old and very noisy, couldn't keep the window open because of the traffic noise and pollution. There was no internet and no fan in the bathroom. In short I could not recommend this hotel, there are others that are better value.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel.
