We stayed at this hotel for a mariners game. At check-in staff was very nice and helpful. We got to our room which was a king room on the 25 th floor. It was clean big and comfy. The only minus was the bathroom door. It wasn't very private. The bed was extremely soft. Also, room service came right on time. Food was pretty good. Pool was small but the water was warm. Overall it was okay but I suggest replacing their bathroom doors.

Average hotel with good views from higher rooms. Incredible charges for internet though plus very basic and expensive business service room. Easy downhill walk into Seattle bit of a trek up hill out though.

Highly recommend having a drink in top floor bar, has excellent views of seattle and sunset.

This was a very special stay. Never have I had a hotel drop a warm beverage with the wake up call. Staff was very attentive and the restaurant on the top floor was wonderful! Was here for a meeting that was sensational because of the food and service.

We stayed 4 nights at the Renaissance as we wanted a hotel within a short walk of Downtown Seattle and most of the tourist attractions seeing as we didn't plan to rent a car.

We got an excellent deal through Expedia, which really reduced the cost of the hotel.

I can't fault the hotel at all. The public areas were nicely decorated, the bar on the top floor had an excellent view and a good happy hour, the fitness suite had top-notch equipment and was usually deserted, and our room was a good size and very nicely decorated.

Staff were all extremely helpful too.

I lived in Seattle for many years and recently relocated away from this great city. I took a trip back to catch up with friends and see some local theater. I was able to secure a great rate at the Madison and had heard good things about the hotel from friends who had stayed in the past. The hotel is currently undergoing the massive renovation to the rooms. If you stay here be sure to request a renovated room. The hotel sits right on the freeway, so rooms on the East side of the building can be a little noisy especially down lower. I was thrilled to get a room on the 27th floor looking to the south UNTIL the earthquake started - or what I first thought was an earthquake. It turns out that the hotel health club is on the 28th floor and when someone decides to run on a treadmill it literally shakes the rooms below. This wouldn't be so bad, but they open the health club at 5AM and apparently there are some health fanatics out there that think a run at 5AM is a good idea. For those of us who prefer to sleep in on weekends this makes for a very unwelcome wake-up call. I don't know what the hotel management is thinking, putting the health club above guest rooms when the building clearly isn't insulated well enough to prevent this unpleasant intrusion AND opening the health club at 5AM. Granted this only creates an issue for a small percentage of rooms, but it's unpleasant if you end up in one of these rooms.
Otherwise I liked the hotel very much. James at the concierge desk was extremely helpful helping even this jaded ex-Seattlite find new restaurants, fun places to explore as a tourist and shopping deals. He truly has his finger on the pulse of Seattle!

This is my second stay in as many weeks. The first week, I was placed in a corner suite on the club floor. This review lost one star because the layout of the room was too closed in and not very comfortable to be in. The room had a small living area with a desk, large LCD TV, and a couch. The bedroom had a great view of the city, but small, and the bathroom was newly renovated. The layout of the room made you feel crammed.

My second stay was in a normal king room on the club floor. This room was excellent! It was newly renovated, nice furniture, great linens, awesome view and plenty of room to roam around.

This hotel is great for Marriott Reward Members. The club floor had breakfast, snacks during the day, a light evening dinner and desserts.

The lounge on the 28th floor has an amazing view of the city along with a great happy hour!

Ok - it is an older hotel but we were given a renovated room on the 22nd floor. The hotel does have that old smell to it...they should see about that. The room was lovely and all upgraded bath items. The view from the room and from the bar on the upper floor was fantastic. A nice walk to the downtown area and we had no trouble finding our way around. Parking is $28 a night and the drinks at the bar a bit pricey, but the view at night is wonderful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for adults who want to see downtown Seattle.
