A nice place to stay in seattle. The Concierges bent over backwards to help. the room was large and very adequate. The area of the hotel is in an upscale area. It is a good place to stay in Seattle however be aware that there's a very large hill walking from pikes place back to the hotel but if you return from pikes market via pike street it is somewhat
easier. Originally we planned to go to the airport by light rail but after navigating the hills opted to pay for a cab. We did like the area better than the courtyard at pioneer square. The lounge for gold card members was excellent we really enjoyed the breakfast.

Thank you so much for posting a review of your recent stay at the Renaissance Seattle. We are thrilled you enjoyed the hotel and found our location convenient. Thank you for commenting on our Concierge staff as well. We are very proud of our knowledgeble and attentive team. In fact, one of our Concierges, Lucy Wilma, was named Seattle's Tourism Ambassador of the year for 2013! It is a very prestigious and coveted title.

Incidentally, if you plan to return to Seattle and the Renaissance, please note another option for transportation to/from the airport is via Shuttle Express. It drops off and picks up right outside the front door of the hotel.

Sincerely,

Nancy Helms-Lovell

I've been a regular visitor to Renaissance Seattle, and have been impressed by their commitment to quality standards. My stay there for several days during June 2012 was no different, except perhaps they were getting even better at running the place.

The Renaissance is located on Madison, an easy to locate place, and in fact the first stop of my shared cab from the airport, taking only about 25 minutes to reach (the flip side of this is that on the way back to SEATAC airport, the shared cab visits 6 other hotels first and takes 1 hour to reach the airport).

The rooms were clean and well maintained. The Internet was reasonably fast and had no glitches. The toilets were well furnished and had the regular complement of toiletries. The coffee provided in the in-room coffee maker was perhaps the best that I have tasted anywhere.

The only complaint that I had this time was that the lifts appeared to be slower than the last time I was around...not sure if this was an illusion or real.

In all, an extremely pleasant experience, and looking forward to staying at Renaissance again...

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of the Renaissance Seattle! We are so appreciative that you recognize our "commitment to quality standards". It is so rewarding when a guest takes the time to give us kudos for what we strive to accomplish for our guests each and every day.

As our lifts are all brand new as of this year and are completely modernized, we hope guests find them much more efficient. Any delay you experienced was most likely due to the fact we've been running a very full house.

Sincerely,

Nancy Helms-Lovell

I stayed with a group of friends for the Emerald City Hoe Down, May 23 -27, 2013. First impression... the hotel was very clean and well maintained in every area. As we encountered the staff, we were all impressed at how welcoming and friendly everyone was. It was very impressive to discover that many of the food & beverage staff have been there for 10-20 years. It's not unheard of but is definitely unusual for hospitality staff to stay in one job for that long which is an indication of good management.

The food was excellent at this hotel. I would highly recommend staying in for at least some of your meals.

Thank you so much for posting a review of your stay at the Renaissance. We are pleased you found our hotel to be clean and maintained and our staff friendly. Yes we do have some tenured staff - including our very first employee who started 30 years ago!

We are also delighted you were able to enjoy our food. We are proud to have 3 outlets giving our guests options during their stay.

We hope you will return to us in the future.

Sincerely,

Nancy Helms-Lovell

It started one block from the hotel where we sat in the car for 20 minutes in a traffic jam caused by guests checking in. You could not get near valet parking, the lot was full and no one was there to direct you to alternate parking. When we did get in the hotel the line up was right through the lobby and moved slowly. Upon reaching the front desk we were told that the two double beds we requested were not available. WHAT! this was a guaranteed reservation! So we had to argue with them because they were not listening to the fact it was guaranteed. Eventually they took the time to check our request and we got the right room. We asked for free wi fi and were told we did not qualify on number of stays for this. Okay, lets review; traffic jam on the street, no parking, traffic jam in the lobby, requested room was a battle and no attempt to give us free wi fi. It gets better as we were told that if we wanted the wi fi we would have to talk to the ...... General Manager!!! Not a supervisor or the front desk manager but the GM. We took that as a major slap, to our experience taking with a GM is rare. You would have thought with all of the problems for the dozens of people in the lobby everyone would have free wi fi or something. 90% of the guest were there for a concert but it was a scheduled event and this hotel is walking distance to the venue so it was not an unexpected crowd! The room was fine with a limited water view. Room service pizza was good. But overall just not worth it.

Rooms were comfortable. Air conditioner worked well. We were on the freeway side and I see some people complained but we didn't find it noisy. Beds were comfortable, rooms very clean, staff very accommodating and friendly. Parking is expensive but comparable to all the other downtown hotels.
