This old hotel from ~1910 is clean, very near the Pike Market (2 1/2 blocks) and relatively cheap (< $200) for the location in Seattle. The staff is good and got us a shuttle to the Carnival Ship Pier for $8/each... not bad. Starbucks is one block away. There is no AC in the rooms, but who needs it in Seattle. It was just fine. It is a little like camping out! Tiny bathroom but large bedroom...

Room Tip: Ask for what you want!

If you’re expecting the usual cookie cutter hotel .. rooms are quirky, no AC, kinda creepy (old factor) and loved every minute of it .. it’s an old place, 1907 and I think it’s being maintained quite well ... walking distance to most everything to see downtown .. young man at front desk was very (almost too) knowledgeable about the area and the city .. he is excited about Seattle and all its uniqueness .. I will stay here again just to talk with him .. there is a coffee shop, bar and restaurant attached .. great coffee, decent beer selection, didn’t try the food .. room was clean, roomy enough and airy with the widows open .. pillows 4/5 fluffy, bed linens 4/5 soft and clean and towels 4/5 on not so scratchy ... you are in the city and will have the noise associated with it .. if you’re a light sleeper .. don’t stay here .. over all I will stay here again and I will recommend it to anyone I talk to going to the city ...

First of all: taking into account the hotelprices in Seattle, we think this hotel has a fair price. Secondly: conveniently located. 5 minutes from Pike Place, walking distance to the Spacen Needle (15 minutes), walking distance to the quays, shops, shopping malles etc. The hotel is stylisch. A visit to the coffeeshop next door (Moore Coffee) is a good start of the day. Spacious rooms. We had a room on one of the top floors. Renovation work was going on but did not cause us any inconvenience. The hotel has various rooms/types. Receptionstaff very welcoming and knowledgeable about what (not) to do.

Lovely old hotel. Real piece of history (opened in 1907). Moving through its hallways and rooms felt like being on the set of a film noir production. I half expected to find Dashiell Hammett pounding away on his typewriter as Humphrey Bogart chain smoked cigarettes nearby. Very helpful, patient and easy going staff. Large, clean rooms with high ceilings – they don't often build them like that anymore. We even had a peek-a-boo view of the ocean (Eliot Bay). The Moore Cafe serves wonderful waffles and one of the best espressos I've ever had. Staying at the Moore is much more unique an experience than staying at some newer, franchised establishment. Would definitely return.

Two blocks from Pike Place Market, four blocks from the Westlake light rail station and the monorail terminus, this old lady has been pretty well taken care of over the years with the addition of things like electricity and such. If you’re looking for chrome and glass or valet parking, go around the block and pay twice or three times as much. The bed was comfortable, it had a walk-in closet, and met our needs very well as a base of operations to explore Seattle. And the comment about rooms on the front of the building having a sea view? Technically, yes, if you peer between buildings opposite, but this is not an oceanfront location. Plus right now they are working on the buildings facade weekdays starting at 7 AM

Room Tip: Not the front of the building for a quieter room
