“Perfect location, perfect fare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Excelent classic hotel. 80 years old. But just perfectly located. Its 3 blocks away from the Pike Place Market and in the core of the shopping area. Small rooms, but nice. You dont need more, and fares are great!

The Mayflower is a beautiful hotel that offers a pleasant alternative to the national chains. The hotel has wonderful decor throughout, from the lobby to the sleeping rooms, and has a beauty that is unique to historic buildings. I was in Seattle for work and found the hotel well-situated to attend my meetings and to enjoy downtown Seattle in the evening. My room was comfortable, if a bit cramped in some places. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel has mattress protectors to keep certain critters that shall remain unnamed from getting into the mattresses; I always check the mattress when I arrive at a hotel, and this is the first hotel that had a full mattress cover. Color me impressed! I ordered room service twice, including for supper (a sandwich and fries) on arrival and for breakfast (the spinach and goat cheese omelet) - both times the service was quick and the foot was hot and satisfactory. If I had to name one complaint, it would be the doorman, who never offered to help me get my luggage up or down the steps into the hotel. I am more than capable, however, and was fine doing it myself and keeping my tip money. I am very glad I stayed at the Mayflower, and it will be at the top of my list the next time I travel to Seattle.

A beautiful, family-owned boutique hotel with a great location in downtown Seattle. I stayed at the Mayflower for a work-related convention. The Convention Center and other convention hotels were within a few minutes walk, the monorail stops behind the hotel, and the light rail station is a block away. I was also able to walk to Pike Place, the Aquarium, and some great restaurants and bakeries in Belltown. All of the hotel staff I encourntered were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to answer any questions I had. This is a gem of a hotel in an area filled with big name hotel chains. I highly reccommend it if you are looking to stay in downtown Seattle.

While attending an American Library Association conference from January 24-28, 2013 I had the pleasure of staying in this classic hotel (1927) where every thing is done to perfection and every telephone is answered on the first ring. Despite a midnight arrival the front desk had me
checked in to room 703 in minutes. Beautifully appointed the classic room had a wonderful view of downtown Seattle. The sheets on the bed were soft, the pillows comfortable, and the wifi worked perfectly. Wake up calls were to the minute and the room was made up promptly whether
you got going at 7 a.m. or not until 2 p.m. The doormen gave perfect directions and got cabs for me on rainy days. The hotel is perfectly located across the street from Macy's and linked by a walkway to the Westview Center with its shops, restaurants and the monorail to the Space Needle. You can even catch the Sea-Tac Light Rail from he airport for $2.75 direct to the hotel. The convention center was within easy walking distance. Every staff person I met in the hotel was polite, efficient and knowledgeable. Just a perfect stay which is all too rare these days.

Stayed in the king suite. Two bathrooms were a bonus for a couple. Nice sitting area & desk to sip wine & plan the evening or days events. Bar has a great vibe for couples or groups of friends. They serve absynthe the right way. Staff was great. Third time here & we'll be back.

Just the right location for my conference visit to Seattle. Good service, great restaurant and bar, and loved getting the Seattle Times at the door each morning. The fitness center could be bigger and no elliptical, but then I only had one day to exercise anyway.

This is the only place to stay in Seattle. Very convenient to all location downtown and is connected to the monorail and easy access to Pikes Place, the train, and the ferries. I have been here for several meetings and have alway had everything I needed to make it successful. The price is a tad bit higher, but that is what makes it worth it.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms have about 2x the space of the regular rooms...
