Have stayed here twice: once as a couple for a concert at Key Arena (it's literally 2 blocks away) and the most recent time for a weekend away with a girlfriend. The location in Lower Queen Anne is perfect. Great restaurants close by (Peso's and Toulouse are right across the street and both are a must try), Seattle Centre and EMP is a short walk away and from there you can take the monorail downtown in about 5 mins. The hotel is old, yes, but the rooms are BIG and clean and I don't mind the walk up the stairs but if you've got a lot of bags, having no elevator could be an issue. Plus, I love the added bonus of having a kitchen with full size fridge in the room. Beds are soft and comfy, the wifi works fine, the little restaurant off the lobby is decent and the staff are friendly and helpful. This is definitely a no frills hotel but for the price, I'd happily stay again. Note: parking is $25 per night with unlimited in and out.

We had a problem with our airline and missed our connecting flight, we called the Marqueen (where we were supposed to stay that night and the next) at 10pm and they were very understanding, we contacted Expedia who contacted them and we got a full refund for our first night even though it was such late notice. The next day we arrived on a very early flight and they let us check in early. Yes, there is no elevator and steps before you even get in the building, but we had a bellhop come out and bring our bags in as well as offer to bring them to the 3rd floor for us, but we did that ourselves.

The room itself was very quaint. It's set like a studio apartment with a little kitchen, a little living area, and the main room itself with a king bed. My only complaint is that the curtains are so sheer, in the morning the room just lights up.

The hotel itself is in a great location. It's within a 5-10 minute walk to the space needle and museum. They also give their guests a 15% off and free appetizer to their restaurant - which was delicious.

Don't request a room online. We booked a room with 2 beds six month in advance. When we arrived our reservation was for only 1 bed for 4 people. When we advised them of the error, we were told there was nothing they could do. They requested we step aside so they could check other people in and than they would "see what they could do later". Good customer service?? You be the judge.

If you are handicapped don't stay here. To enter the hotel, you have to carry you luggage up 5 steep steps. There is no staff to assist you. Once inside, there is no elevator and you have to carry your luggage up 2 to 3 flights of steps.

This hotel is old, carpet is stained and rooms smell like smoke. I will never return and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Don't stay here if you want a good vacation!

Thanks so much for your review. I'm very sorry to hear of the room type / bed configuration confusion that you encountered at check-in. While I'm unable to tell how/why this occurred based on the information provided here - whether the error was on our end, your end, or a third party booking site's end - I absolutely apologize for any poor customer service that you encountered. There's never an excuse for bad customer service, and a high level of said service is what we pride ourselves on most. While our hotel is historic, and most find that charming, it is undoubtedly clean and well maintained. I wish you the best of luck in your future travels, and I hope the rest of your time in Seattle was enjoyable.

We had 5 ofnus in a family room for 3 nights, and it was fine. Price was ok, room was comfortable ( beds very much so) only gripes were a ver noisy air con, and as it's an old building, no elevator ( who becomes a problem when you need to get luggage to the 3 Rd floor!). That said, the doorman was very helpful and carried most of our stuff for us, so I'm not complaining! Location is excellent, lotsnof really good restaurants right next door, and only 3 blocks frommthe Seattle centre.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the main road, a bit quieter

This hotel was wonderful - it reminded me of my Grandma's house in the city. The rooms are large and our unit had a little kitchenette. There is no elevator , so we stayed on the ground floor - which limited our view and privacy as the people walking by on the street could see us and we could see them. So, its a choice - use the stairs all the time or limit your view. The room was comfortable- we were able to control the temperature ourselves. The kitchenette had plates and glasses, but no cleaning supplies - so we could not wash our own dishes. The housekeeping staff washed them , but I am not sure they used soap either as the dishes were not very clean - I used a bit of hand soap which was o-kay. There are tons of restaurants within walking dishes and a great little market around the corner. Walking distance to Seattle center made for a great visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions - would print them out for us.
The hotel states that you can either park on the street or use their valet. Parking on the street is very limited- so just expect to use the valet - which is about $30/day. If you need to do your laundry - you can pay them or do your own , but then you have to walk 2 blocks and wait. I would definitely recommend this place - very comfy and welcoming

Our family really enjoyed our visit and stay at the Marqueen Hotel. Employee (Bellman?) Andrew was exceptional. He was so helpful and cheery. Whether it was helping us with luggage, getting the car, giving us restaurant info, he was always kind.

Room was very large, even a small kitchen. Hotel was confidently located to the Needle, the EMP museum and the Chihuly Glass exhibit. Even walking distance to Pikes Place.

Always difficult to retrofit an old building but they did a good job. Still would be nice to have an elevator and more outlets. Mattresses very firm, a bit sore in a.m. Great service and staff. Excellent 3 star hotel, good 4 star ....
