What a sad and depressing little place this is. I love to stay in old hotels but this old apartment building has seen better days, and very little – ok, nothing - has been done to improve it. There are no elevators so you take the stairwells to the upper floors, which is fine except that the carpets have apparently never been cleaned so the smell was appalling. The room was teeny tiny with cheap furniture (bed, dresser and a little table with 2 wooden chairs) and unrelentingly drab from the lousy paint job on the walls to the bedcovers and pictures. It smelled a bit too, I think from a slight hint of mold in the window ac unit. I can’t believe how much they charge for this place. I can’t believe I paid it.
On the plus side – there was a clean little kitchen, and the folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful with local directions and suggestions.
