We spent one night in Seattle prior to our Alaskan cruise. This hotel is downtown and located within walking distance to the marketplace. However, the walk down to the pier was easy but the walk back up not so much!
Hotel was older but very nice, large bathroom and very comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and they had a great breakfast buffet. We are priority club members which also gave us a discount on the buffet. Happy hour in the bar included free appetizers.
A short taxi ride took us the the pier the next day.
If I ever return to Seattle would definitely stay at Crowne Plaza again.

It is located on 6th ave, just next to Seneca street. What does it mean? It is just minutes walk down to Pike or Pine street where all things happening there. Just keep in mind SUUPP so you won't be lost. S for Seneca, U for university, and Union, next is Pike, and last P is for Pine. Seattle is a very tourist friendly, and so is Crowne Plaza. Very convenient to get there, don't spend too much money on shuttle, you can just book a Downtown Airporter from SeaTac that cost you about $13 per person, and being a Crowne guest you'll be benefited to get dropped off first before anyone else, as that is the first stop from the airport. While you can stroll around during the day, you can ultimately enjoy your rest as the hotel is in a very quiet neighborhood. If you need small bite, subway is just down, next building. Get some groceries at the store just cross the street at 6th and Seneca st junction down the parking garage. Overall it's worth for money, considering the family friendly and the great location.

I saw another traveler mention the noisy AC unit so this may be a bigger prob than a room or two, but otherwise I thought it was very good. The room was big, bed was comfy and the location was fine - its next to a Subway so that gives you an idea, not high end but just a couple of blocks away from the monorail and other fun.

We stayed two nights (two rooms) at this hotel prior to a cruise. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice, with a clear view of the space needle. Heating/cooling worked well. The room was clean, and contained the basic necessities. It was about a 10 minute walk to Pike Street Market. There is a nice park across the street, and many shops within walking distance. The concierge helped us arrange transportation prior to our visit. Elevators were a bit slow, but no biggie.

I would stay at this hotel again, no problem. However, if you're cruising, the Marriott is right in the center of things (cruise terminal and pike street market).

Room Tip: Rooms facing the space needle are away from the highway as well--you want that side.

We stayed two nights at this hotel recently and would not stay again. There was absolutely no outdoor area (nor did windows open). Our room was impossible to keep at a steady temperature, going from too cold to too warm, back and forth, and the AC motor was really noisy. I had to use ear plugs to filter out a steady, annoying hum. We thought breakfast was included in the price, so went to the breakfast room the first morning. It was not covered, but we were there, so took in the buffet. Both of us had a pretty small breakfast: scrambled eggs and a crecant for me and Bill had a two pancakes and a piece of bacon. We both had a glass of OJ. The coffee was absolutely the worst coffee I've ever tried to drink...in fact we could not drink it. It was really really weak.

The good things: the beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. The location was very good, lots of good restaurants near by and close to Convention Center, shopping and the Monorail. The front desk staff was very friendly.
