Owner description: Travel the route of the Trail of '98 from behind the wheel of a comfortable and spacious Hummer® H3 SUV. This limited, exclusive excursion will allow you to enjoy the scenery and history of the Klondike Gold Rush at a leisurely pace. Your small group of explorers will set out in comfort on an adventure from Skagway into the Yukon Territory via the famous routes taken by the hardy gold prospectors in the late 1800's. You'll be driving your Hummer® into the heart of the rugged wilderness made famous by fabled gold rush legends Robert Service and Jack London. Your experienced tour guide, in the lead vehicle, will entertain you with tales of the gold rush era via an interactive, two-way radio system. Driving your own Hummer® provides you the freedom, comfort and relaxation of exploring the Klondike Gold Rush routes from a bygone era in an intimate way. This adventure allows you to experience the beauty of Skagway and the Yukon Territory away from the crowds. Your guide will lead your caravan to destinations such as Pitchfork Falls, Moore Bridge, Dead Horse Gulch, Bracket Wagon Trail, and Tormented Valley. Additionally, you will visit the historic village of Carcross, named after the narrow Caribou crossing at the headwaters of the mighty Yukon River. After a short break, your caravan will travel to The World's Smallest Desert, and finally, the highlight of this adventure, Emerald Lake, known for its vivid turquoise water. You will also enjoy an Alaskan style snack prior to hearing the story of Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith, Skagway's most notorious outlaw, on your return trip to Skagway. This spellbinding adventure crosses an international border. You must bring your Passport and driver's license. Remember to take along a camera and some friends for this five-hour adventure.

“Great experience”
Reviewed September 30, 2013 via mobile

This was the first excursion on our cruise and definitely one of our favorites. There were 3 in our jeep so we all knew each other. The guides were great and kept us entertained. The scenery was AMAZING! The length of the tour was perfect as well.

We LOVED our Jeep tour from Skagway, AK to the Yukon. Our Guides were great and the scenery was amazing. Pictures can't do it justice.

“The best JEEP ride you will ever have.”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

We chose this for one of our shore excursions from our cruise ship. Price was good, and the amount of time was just right. From the boat, we hopped onto a bus that took us through town to get us to our JEEP. We meet our guide, got in the JEEP and took off up the hyway. Took 2 1/2 hrs to make it to CARCROSS up in the YUKON. Many breath taking views and sceries. Even had a bald eagle fly along side the JEEP while cruising along the lake shores. I would recommend this to anyone, young or old.

“Don't Waste Your Money”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Biggest disappointment of our great Alaska trip. This was the first excursion of our trip and the biggest waste of money. First things first! We had to ride the entire 5 hours in the back seat of a 2 door Wrangler. We were paired with 2 rather large people and they could not climb in the back seat so we were put in the back seat of the tour guides Jeep. Not Happy! It reads enjoy scenic stops along the way. We stopped 2 times on the side of the road. It reads you will head off road for amazing vistas in 2 different valleys, this never happened. We went off road 1 time and that was a 30 minute round trip to a 100 yard pit where they drove the Jeeps around in a circle track 2 times then we headed back to the road and back to town. PLEASE do not waste your valuable time and money on this trip.

“Not what we expected.”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Looking at the brochure and the description you get the impression that you will go off the road exploring the forest and see scenery and wildlife. That's not what we got. Driving along the highway to the Yukon was ok, with informative information on the CB from the tour guides, but then we went off road and drove like maniacs round and round in a dust bowl which may appeal to the 18-30 year olds but not our over 40 group. This tour would suit young rev heads but couldn't recommend it to the older crowd.
