I stayed at the hotel one night after moving from Westmark Inn. Great place, the owner is very friendly. Rooms are very clean- you feel like at home

Stayed here two nights on business. Probably the best place in town (that's open year round) but there's not a lot of options so that doesn't say much. As other reviews said, it did feel like "staying and grandma's" although I have to admit it feels a bit cleaner than my grandma's house, which is definitely a plus. The beds weren't the most comfortable but they were adequate. There was a fridge, and if I remember correctly a microwave as well. There were plenty of TV channels, although the TV was on the small side.

The managers of the motel are apparently fond of their dogs. During the day they were out on the front lawn, and as result it's recommended to be careful walking around on the grassy areas or you just might step in a fresh one...

Unfortunately the entire time I was in Skagway I was sick so I spent more time in the room than I normally would have. On that note the curtains do not darken the room much which made daytime napping difficult. You can also hear people walking by on the boardwalks outside your room. The motel is just a few blocks from the local grocery store (just past the fire station). My illness is also the reason for no pictures with this review.

Great location. Clean, comfortable and relaxing. I'm more of corporate hotel chain girl, but this was a nice alternative.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new section of rooms.

This lodge is a slightly funky collection of numerous older buildings, and shows it's age. The bed was a bit saggy and the shower worked unlike any I've ever seen. However, the friendly, hard-working owner Chris makes up for everything in spades. He gave us a free shuttle from the ferry, let us use a kitchen room to cook our meals, and offered many useful suggestions for hikes and food options in Skagway and other towns.

We spent four nights here in early January. We were the only guests. We would stay with Chris again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and the large rooms had plenty of room for 2 couples.
