Owner description: Skagway's "The Days of '98 Show with Soapy Smith"! - The Longest Running show in the north! Since 1923, The Days of '98 show has stupefied and bedazzled audiences with the tale of Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith, Alaska's most notorious outlaw. Soapy reigned over Skagway during the wildest days of the Klondike Gold Rush, and this colorful vaudevillian musical recounts his incredible life and dramatic demise! With can-can dancers, ragtime music, riotous humor, and the great con-man himself, Soapy Smith, this show is a treat for the whole family!

They give you a thousand dollars (play money) and you have an hour to gamble before the show starts. Loved their a capella rendition of the Alaska flag song at the end. It was worth going to.

Do you have a spare hour while in Skagway? Don't miss this one-hour musical telling the story of the infamous Soapy Smith in song and dance. A talented cast, some audience participation, and if you can't get to Broadway in NYC, go to Broadway here.

The lead actor and actree are very good. It's a fun little play. It doesn't take a lot of time and doesn't cost much. I recommend you put it on your things to do in Skagway. It sure beats all the jewlery and junk stores!

Great little show that tells a historical tale with a flair. Entertaining, reasonably priced, only an hour long, which left time to peruse the shops and museum in town. Even my hard-of -hearing father-in-law enjoyed the show, saying he was able to understand everything! Don't forget to ask for your military or AAA discount to save a few bucks. Younger children may not find it engaging enough to sit still, but pre-teens and up should enjoy the dramatic version of historical facts.
