“Best Value in France”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

This was our second visit to Aux Terrasses with some French friends. The food and service was fantastic and at 46 Euros for four courses with all the extras, it was outstanding value, especially for a Michelin starred restaurant. There was nothing that any of us ordered which was not top class. If in the area, you should not miss taking the time for a long lunch.

“A gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

We wandered into this restaurant purely by chance, rather late one lunch time - and not expecting anything special, particularly since it was rather hidden away with no view to speak of.
However - what a delightful surprise. We ordered the 3 course menu, which was around 35 euros from memory, and each course was sublime and beautifully presented. There was a divine little amuse-bouche which was some kind of lobster sorbet, followed by crayfish in on a bed of tiny fruits and vegetables and flowers - like a work of art - sea bass with the best and most calorific mashed potato I have ever had in my life, and a tiny fromage frais with fruits for pud. And of course amazing coffee and petit fours. I had been a bit despondant about the standard of French cooking recently, especially in out of the way places, but this was completely perfect. Couldn't rate it highly enough.

“A wonderful dining experience and unexpected!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

This restaurant was recommended by a person on the street near where we docked our boat. What a treat. It is a Michelin Star restaurant and we had the most delicious and creative lunch. Three of us had the local "Poulet au Bresse" with morels which is an unbelievable dish. The wine pairings that were recommended was excellent, the extra courses they brought to accompany our meal was a treat and the service was the best. Highly recommended this restaurant. A special occasion kind of place.

“Wonderful dinning experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

While on a boat trip up the Soane we tied up at Tournus and went in search for a place to have lunch. The epicurean force was with us as we made an unplanned stop at the Aux Terrasses. Despite having no reservations we were warming greeted and seated immediately. Only after a few minutes did we realize that all the dinners were smartly dressed and seemed totally unfazed by four boat people in rather casual boating attire.
The food preparation, taste combinations and creativity in presentation were superb. My wife and I had the Poulet Bresse as our main course and it is a dish worthy of its reputation. The wine selection is ample and affords excellent choices for course pairings.
If you are on the river or driving in the area do not miss the opportunity to dine at Terrasses.

“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

Following our visit to this wonderful restaurant last year, we decided to pay them another visit on our way through to Provence this year - we also stayed overnight in one of their clean and spacious bedrooms (very good value at €86pn). The food and service was absolutely excellent and could not be faulted in any way. The set menu at €46pp is very good value for such great quality food. The whole dining experience was truly outstanding in every way and we can't wait to visit again. The restaurant is currently being extended to give them more covers and additional hotel rooms are being added. We were advised the building work will be completed early next year. No surprise they need more room, the restaurant is always fully booked and rightly so - just fabulous!
