“Great SPA”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Regular 4 star hotel outside of Tallinn. We really enjoyed SPA. Several different saunas, separate pool area.
Didn't have enough time for it but there is a possibility to rent some strange (3 seats) electric car.
We really liked breakfast, great choice of food. Would stay another time.

We spent a week at Viimsi Spa and Hotel. While there, we enjoyed the services offered in their wellness package: 4 short massages, paraffin wraps, herbal whirlpool bath, etc. I joined the morning water aerobics and found them invigorating. We especially enjoyed the pool and sauna area, trying out all the different water massage jets and the unusual saunas.
The room was quite adequate compared to many at spas in Estonia and the food was plentiful, nourishing though not anything special. Friends said their a la carte food was very good, but we didn't try it, as we went to Tallinn for dinner every night.
We rode the local bus to Tallinn. It cost us only 8 euros for five days of use because we bought the card (available at the post office across the street or at any R-kiosk) and one can load as much money or days on it as one wishes. 2 euros for the card and 6 euros for five days was a good deal. Buses ran 2 to 3 times every hour. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus and they went to the city center.
The spa is expanding by adding a movie theater. The construction didn't bother us at all because our room was away from that area.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side are quieter and don't get the heat of the afternoon sun.

Our family stayed in renovated rooms.
They had reconstruction works on, so there were a little bit noisy but staff were really friendly and gave us freshly designed and more peaceful rooms...I was very satisfied with the whole stay.
Spa- and sauna area was really relaxing with great interior. Especially we enjoyed their huge children centre with all its entertainment inside.
Seems that they are expanding the sauna area and all the hotel rooms will be updated step by step. We´ll plan to go back there and take a holistic health spa package next time.

Room Tip: ...just ask for renovated ones. All the rooms are spacious and very comfortable.

Our room was falling apart - tiles missing in bathroom walls and holes in the wooden floor. Very hot in the summer with no air conditioning. Very peaceful at night.

The spa is really nice and especially the different saunas. I wish the hotel rooms were as nicely renovated as the spa area!

Taxi to Tallinn cost around 12 euros one way.

I come regularly to spend my holidays with my friends in Viimsi and for the past couple of times used the SPA swimming pool and sauna. While all the facilitiues are there and the staff are friendly and helpful the impression is spoilt by bad cleaning of the pool and sauna like floating hair and etc.

I stayed at the Viimsi Spa hotel for one night with my mom. It is located in a nice area, 5min from the beach and very close to Tallin. They have bicycle rentals available, so you can take a nice bike ride to the beach (which is what we did), and most importantly, they have a great spa!

The hotel itself is 3 to 4 stars, but the spa definitely deserves all 5 stars! Room was very basic, but the Spa access really made the stay so enjoyable!

At the Spa there are 7 or 8 saunas and they are really well made and thought through. There are two kinds of salt saunas, the traditional ones, wooden sauna and more! I am normally not a big fan of saunas, but this experience even to me was amazing, my mom was completely in love with it, as she loves them!

Worth visiting for the Spa experience.

This hotel was sold as a three-star accommodation, but there were many features in the hotel that can be well rated above the three-star level in Estonia. Especially when travelling with a small kid (1.5 year old), the nice pool area and the excellent playroom for children were the best features of this hotel. But I guess there are a lot of activities for other travellers as well.

If you want to see Tallinn, I recommend you have your own car with you or book a hotel nearer to the city. The rooms are of good size (at least the one we got) and two beds plus baby bed don't fill up the whole space, but there seem to be no air conditioning in the rooms and the walls are thin - so keep you window open during the days and have ear plugs ready for nighs. At least in July, nights were peaceful and quiet, but the room was warm despite the rainy weather.

I would go back, especially because of the spa area and the playroom.
