“Okay for a tight budget”
Reviewed October 7, 2009

Pros: Friendly staff, and reasonably clean.
Cons: About 50 feet from a 6-lane highway, just incredible traffic noise. TV remote inoperative, light over bathroom sink didn't work, toilet leaked, ice bucket was cracked, causing minor flood. Threadbare sheets, and yellow walls with yellowed shades on the lamps makes for a cave-like experience.
There were also fruit flies buzzing around the room for some reason. If you can afford better, you'll want to spend some extra $$.

I stayed here for a week while I was in town on business. The room had many amenities and the staff was helpful and considerate. There was a nice pool area and internet access in the lobby. It is close to shopping and restaurants. This motel is a reasonable rate and a good value. I would recommend it for all age groups.

  • Liked — many amenities in the rooms - hairdryer, microwave, refrigerator, ironing board, etc.
  • Disliked — noisy next door neighbor

My daughter and I stayed here while we were in town for a screen printing class. It was one of the motels the school recommended. The room was clean enough and we felt safe there. The down side was that the motel is VERY close to a very busy road. No problem if you have the heat or air on because the sound of that will drown out the traffic noises fine. We didn't really need the heat or air much during our visit so it was a bit noisy for us. Also, there seem to be a lot of teens who come down from the bowling alley on the hill and hang out in the motel parking lot at night. Some of them seemed to be drinking and were on the loud side.

On our last night around midnight someone smashed into the back of our SUV while we were asleep in our room. The damage wasn't huge, but bad enough. It appeared that the person who did it was not even a guest at the motel. Fortunately, a lady working in the nearby conference center saw the whole thing and her husband actually chased after the car to get a tag number. Their concern helped make up for some of the sting of the other person just racing off after they hit it.

I feel like we got a good value with the room, but not too happy about the sort of people who hang out in the parking lot. Employees all seemed nice. Breakfast was things like yogurt, muffins, fresh fruit, etc.

Not sure I would stay here again if I were in the area though. Sad because it is not really the fault of the motel, but of the people who hang out there.

  • Liked — Nice employees
  • Disliked — Young peoplewho were not guests hanging out in parking lot of motel at night.

A pretty good motel. My room on the 2nd floor was in good condition. Bathroom was clean, faucets and drains worked well, plenty of hot water. Air conditioner worked well, which of course is important in Georgia in the summer. Paid $52/night AAA rate + about $7/night taxes for 1 person in a room with 2 full size beds.

Bed was ok, on the soft side if anything (as opposed to the hard bed the previous reviewer found). Sheets were clean. Room included a refrigerator.

Free self-service breakfast includes orange or apple juice, coffee or tea, 4 kinds of cold cereal in individual packages (guaranteed clean that way), oatmeal, toast, bagels, individually packaged muffins & danish. Complimentary USA Today available in lobby.

Wireless internet worked but marginally. Several times I had to connect to the adjacent Conference Center's wireless, which is also wide open.

The motel is on a dead-end extension of Cobb Place Blvd to the south-east of Barret Parkway. You can see I75 traffic from the front side of the building. I was first concerned about possible traffic noise, but had no problem with the air conditioner going all the time drowning out any possible road noise.

Most guests seemed to be middle or lower-middle class, blue collar. Lots of nice pickup trucks. Blue collar workers, some truckers. I was here on a business trip and would guess that most business travelers don't stay here (or at the Quality), but if you want something good but more affordable this is a good choice. No exercise room. Pool seems ok but didn't use it.

This (Kennesaw) location is north and west of Atlanta. Traffic on I75 southbound in the morning seemed pretty bad, so for tourists you might want to stay someplace closer to whatever your tourist destinations are. One traffic report I saw in the morning indicated all southbound traffic was congested, and all northbound traffic was ok, so that *might* suggest staying south of the city might put you in a less traffic-congested area.

Note the Days Inn building is a twin of, and right next to, the Quality in at 750 Cobb Place Blvd. My guess is they were originally built as a single motel with 2 buildings, then at some point the property was split and sold to 2 different hotel chains. Building appears to be, I'd guess, about 10 years old.

maps.google.com give the wrong location for the motel.

  • Liked — Good clean room at an affordable price, building isn't old
  • Disliked — Struggled a little to get free wireless internet working.

Bathrooms were clean. Refridgerator was a nice ammenity.
Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Sheets on one bed had ashes on them! Blankets between sheet and bedspread were rough and stained! Breakfast was limited, but ok. Half empty vodka bottle adorned the staircase upon our departure the next morning! Cancelled our reservation for the following week - BE CAREFUL, Hotels.com charges you $25 to cancel, even when hotel they recommended was substandard!
