We just 24 spend hours at the hotel for a big birthday in the family. The place is a mix of a simple hostelry and a nice hotel. Especially the dining areas are good, with the great view and interior. And the food was equally very delicious. The rooms are fine, but the free ironing boards etc. was very old a not very good. Also consider asking for softer pillows as they are extremely uncomfortable.

One night in the hotel with friends and some golf at the nearby Soroe golf course. The public areas of the hotel are very tasteful. Rooms are a little small and the bathrooms very small with a shower squeezed into corner behind a curtain. So water all over when you've showered.
We ate at the restaurant. Took the dinner of the day - two or three courses - we took two. Food was good; perhaps a little unambitious, but OK, and the house wine good. The sun was baking hot when we went outside the restaurant to finish our drinks. Some parasols would have been nice (ditto when we went outside the next day after breakfast). The breakfast was good. I noticed that the two staff supposed to clear tables etc spent a lot of time in the kitchen talking; had to go and find one to ask to clear and wipe a table rather than it getting done by them being vigilent. During the busy time, the second person seemed to disappear completely and the other one in the kitchen. Lucky it was self-service. Maybe a maitre d' would be useful.

Nice and spectacular hotel from the outside. Reception and restaurant also ok, but the room was a bit disappointing. The bed was good, but the room did not have any air conditioning and only a simple lift curtain to cover the window. The bathroom was small and “outdated”. A simple hand shower with a “smelly” shower curtain around. Water all over the place when you take a shower. Not worthy a 4 star hotel. 3 star ok, but definitely not 4! The staff, however, was very welcoming, service-minded and friendly! Thumbs up!!
