Thanks to Rick, Jay and all of the staff at Adventure Sixty North, including our heli pilot for an amazing trip of a lifetime. Rick and his staff are flexible and extremely helpful. We were able to kayak in Bear Glacier among huge icebergs and the famous Bear Glacier with our excellent and patient guide Jay. The trip starts off at the office of Adventure Sixty North were they will size your gear, issue dry bags for your items and shuttle you to the Seward airport where you will take an amazing helicopter flight over mountains and glaciers finally reaching the rendezvous point at the edge of bear glacier. With our guide we traversed the lake through gorgeous giant icebergs occasionally seeing harbor seals and other wildlife. We paddled all the way to the face approximately 3 to 4 miles roundtrip a feat I was concerned for my other half but our guide reassured me it was no problem. We are so glad and grateful we were able to experience this wonderful tour and look forward someday returning to do other great tours with our new friends. Thanks again Rick!

We took the Aialik glacier tour--- it was so amazing. We had been on a glacier tour in Juneau to see the Mendenhall Glacier-- this one was more impressive in terms of loud roars as the icebergs calved into the sea. The sea was full of icebergs with seals who had just had pups--- what a privilege to see these creatures ( from a distance of course). Our guide was very good--- calm and a great teacher -- we had kayak experience but the other two ladies had not so he was able to help us both know what we needed to hear. The boat ride out was scenic--- saw Orcas, sea lions and seals and many sea birds and otters. The water taxi driver was truly interested in making the ride a part of the experience...
The ride was the hard part-- about two hours each way--- yes you can drink tea and look out or bring a book if you get bored with scenery... They covered all the details including having hot tea in the kayaks! ( the guide gave you a warm cup.... really nice touch)..

Adventure 60 North is the only kayak rental we use in Seward. They return your calls right away, they drop off your kayaks on time, they come pick them up when you return and the gear is in great shape. The hike from North Beach to Ft. McGillvray is easy and the ruins are cool. But also take the time to go to South Beach. The view is great and if it is sunny, the hot rocks are like a spa. Otters, seals and eagles are always seen. Also, it you use a water taxi to get your kayaks to a cabin, use Louie at Seward Water Taxi.

We did the day trip to Caines Head. They were great about informing us of the what to expect and what to bring. All the staff were very welcoming. What an amazing day. The guides Jay & Katie were so much fun to spend the day with. They truly made us feel like it all about us The trip out was perfect and we did not feel like we were rushed at all. For an all inclusive day trip it was perfect. Jay was very informative of the area. We were so fortunate to get to see humpback whales, porpoises, eagles and sea lions. Could not of asked for a better day.

Easy, well prepared, and great value. I took my leadership team on this during an offsite and we had a blast. The perfect weather didn't hurt! We saw Otter, Sea Lion, and all kinds of birds. The hike up to Fort McGilvry (SP?!) was rewarding with the clear-sky view at the top. I recommend having comfortable footwear for the hike as the kayak boots would likely be difficult to hike in.
