Our kayak guide recommended Chinook's over Rays for dinner in Seward. Both are located in the small boat harbor not far from each other --- so nice views to be had if you get at a table by the window. We were told Chinooks a bit less pricey than Rays, though this being Alaska, it's kind of an expensive meal. Food was good --- we shared King Crab legs as an appetizer, teens had delicious risotto balls, clam chowder, my son had a great scallop macaroni and cheese, and the rest us had the chef's special salmon. Better than average, not fantastic, but very good. Friendly service. Some of the staff we had seen before at a local coffee shop (I guess that's what happens in a small town!) so that was kind of neat. We had a table upstairs by the window with a great view of the harbor. The waitress made a point of coming over to point out an otter that was swimming in the harbor. My teens also really enjoyed the desserts! We spent the first half of the day kayaking, and this was a really nice kind of fancy end to the day.
