TheLodge is an absolutely stunning setting overlooking the bay. Our accommodation was spotlesslessly clean and well equipped and extremely spacious. We had a good deal and the price was excellent.

Our gripes were re Breakfast which was extremely disappointing. It was all served on paper crockery with plastic cutlery which we didn't find acceptable from an environmental point of view. In addition the fare was unimaginative - instant oats and a variety of breads and plastic pots of jam/jelly. The hostess hovered in the background and was hardly welcoming. Everything was cleared away spot on 9am - beware if you are late.

We would recommend their Kenai fiord boat trip - it was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska as the boat was small and intimate run by two great guys who were amusing and knowledgeble. A much better deal that the vessels carrying 100+ passengers. Book early - you get a small discount apparantly.

We were in Alaska for 11 days and Seward was our last stop. We stayed at the Saltwater Lodge for two nights. What a way to end our trip. The lodge is GREAT. Our 'cabin' included two bedrooms, two bath, kitchen and living area. The entire front room is windows which look out to Ressurrection Bay. What an amazing view! The cabin was spacious, well maintained and had a homey feel to it. The deck surrounding the cabin was large and the perfect place to relax.

This place is great. My family and I stayed there on a family vacation. We shared the upper floor on one of the buildings with a great view of Ressurection Bay.

The rooms are spotless and well maintained. The kitchen is modern and usable. We really enjoyed the low key atmosphere and all the woderful recreation that Seward had to offer.

Steps for Miller's landing which has a small store. If you want kayaking, there is a tour group right in the parking lot. After some of the places we stayed in Alaska, the Salt Water Lodge is a dream come true.

We stayed at the Lowell point cottage which is part of the Alaska Saltwater lodge. The cottage is a log cabin across the street from the main lodge in Millers landing which is about 7 minutes drive south of Seward. The front yard is overgrown with weeds...but the cottage looks nice. Once inside, there is a living room, kitchenette, and 2 large bedrooms with a total of 5 double beds and 1 twin. There is only 1, very small, dilapidated bathroom so don't plan on filling up the beds with a large family. (we have a small family...a couple with a 12 yr old son)
There are nice views of the mountains from all windows but water views are blocked by trees. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, electric skillet, dishes and flatware. Breakfast is served in the main lodge across the street. Breakfast is limited to oatmeal, bread, fruit, coffee and juice. The view from the breakfast area is very nice.

A friend and I spent 3 nights at the Alaska Saltwater Lodge and we wished it could have been more. The lodge looks out over Resurrection Bay and the scenery is spectacular. On our first morning we spotted a bald headed eagle sitting on a rock on the beach right in front of the lodge. Later that afternoon there were two of them on a tree right beside the lodge. We stayed in one of the suites and it faced out onto the bay. Not every room has this view but there is a big deck in the back of the lodge with plenty of seating. Seals can occasionally be spotted when you walk along the beach. The suite was very large, very clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. A sleeping mask is helpful if you go in the summer because there are a lot of windows and it doesn't ever get dark. The manager of the lodge is extremely helpful with local information and nice to talk with. The breakfast is basic - toast, english muffins, spreads, fruit, juices. The lodge has a Kenai Fjords tour that we took and that is a great trip. The boat is small - there were only 8 passengers on our trip - and it makes for a more personal experience.

The Alaskan Saltwater Lodge has the best view of Resurrection Bay! We had a beautiful suite on the second floor looking right out over the bay for 3 nights. It was lovely, like having our own apartment with a lovely beach in front. Two Bald Head Eagles sat every morning in a tree right next to our room. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It was quiet. The breakfasts were simple, fresh fruit, toast and english muffins, juice , which was quite adequate for us. We also went out on their all day Wildlife boat trip and had a great time as the boat only holds 10 or so people. Much more personable than the big tour boats. Great place and would recommend it highly!

We were so thrilled with the Alaska Saltwater Lodge, where we spent 2 days in June (should have stayed longer!). The views cannot be beat - you open the door to your room and there is the bay with mountains behind it - jaw-droppingly beautiful. My pictures taken from our room and the large deck have been blowing people away (as soon as I learn how to post them, I will - they are too big and I don't know how to make them smaller except in an email on my Apple - if anyone knows, I'd love a hint). There were eagles right outside the deck in a tree most of the time, and occasionally otters or seals. People can kayak right from the lodge, and it makes a great picture to have the kayaks in it as they are colorful. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were small but doable. Frig in room was helpful. No TV - we didn't care but some people might. It is rustic but pretty - wood floors in rooms. My room was on the second floor - no elevator of course in case you have a problem with stairs. Kathleen, the owner, was delightful - she cuts up fresh fruit for beakfast and their are muffins and bagels and cereal. The dining area is very pleasant, and people tend to congregate there during breakfast so it's fun. I highly recommend it, and would definitely go back and spend at least one day just enjoying the lodge.
