“Great clam chowder”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

The clam chowder was very tasty, as was the beer. The restaurant has a pleasant, rustic ambiance. We all enjoyed our lunch.

“A little disappointing”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

The atmosphere and decor are not particularly appealing. Hard chairs, hard walls and somewhat loud.

I'm cutting some slack here because turns out I was there a couple of days before it closed for the season. But: They were out of most beers. The food quality seemed a bit spotty but nothing was particularly special. Of our food the tuna appetizer was best but that was merely a bit better than typical. I'd give it another try and hope this experience was an off day but if the second trip was identical perhaps I might go back to try the beers but would not bother for the food alone.

“This find was a gem”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We enjoyed two evening meals at the Seward Brewing Company which is set in an old store and had a great atmosphere. The beers were good and I enjoyed being able to taste them as part of a beer flight - four beers served together in smaller glasses. We enjoyed the food and appreciated their efforts in creating some different dishes to those that are so common in AK restuarants.

“Great Beer friendly people”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

We stopped in just for beer, which was excellent. We didn't eat, but the menu looked very good. All the people were very friendly & were gave us great advice of things to see in town.

“Great chowder and decent beer”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We weren't real hungry and we decided to have a chowder smackdown by having a bow of chowder and a beer at Seward Brewing and then going to Rays to try their chowder. Seward Brewing had the best chowder we had on our entire trip in Alaska. It was full of seafood, clams, crab, fish and the flavor was real good and it wasn't watered down or full of potatoes. The beer was decent, I just wish they had had their stout on tap since it was cool and drizzly outside but the porter was tasty. The service was ok; we sat at the bar and it was fairly busy.
